It goes flat after three uses
I bought this pillow looking for a quality camp pillow for backpacking. I used it maybe two times. On the third backpacking trip, it went flat on the first night. Very bad, as i had to use it for a total of five nights, with it going flat in the first hour or so. When I brought it home, i dunked it in water and found at least two seam leaks. Tried to fix them, but it kept going flat, probably from micro leaks in the seams. Very disappointed. I love Big Agnes products and the sleeping bag I bought is the best. I wonder if their quality control is going down....
The greatest pillow ever!
Really comfortable. I like it so much, I was about to buy another but, Big Agnes stopped making them! Ugh! REI: please make your own version of this style pillow! Note: this is not a pillow in the sense many expect it to be. It is a flat on your back pillow. If you are a side sleeper while in a sleeping bag, move on. But if you are a back sleeper, the combo of air with memory foam is fantastic. It might take you a night to adapt and adjust it but once you have, it is so nice to adjust as needed with the valve. Don't give up. Usually, I find, I have to take air out, NOT add air in to what seems normal. The memory foam does 90% of the work. The air is just to snug and adjust. Again, back sleepers only!
A higher state of dreaming
Gone are the days of carting a house sized pillow on car camping trips or rolling up your jacket in the backcountry. This pillow is every bit as comfortable and supportive, but packs down small enough to carry into the woods for some seriously comfortable rest. My wife and I both got this pillow for a coast to coast road trip with plenty of camping along the way. The pillow was awesome in the tent, great in the car for passenger naps, and I'd wager it would be excellent as an option for air travel. The baffled air chanbers inside keep the shape stable as your head rolls around and the half inch or so thick memory foam top layer adds a really nice soft feel so you don't feel like your sleeping on a balloon. I'm also really glad Big Agnes made the cover easily removable for a quick wash when needed. It rolls into a durable stuff sack that's a little smaller than a Nalgene bottle so it scores high on the packability scale. To say the least, we're very happy we had these for our trip and will continue to use them whenever we sleep in the dirt.
