Not Durable

After 2 months of normal use, the hinge broke on the glasses while putting them into their protective pouch. Smith will not warranty the glasses and refuses to stand by their product. I have worn Smith sunglasses for several years but will be looking elsewhere for future purchases. Be aware that these frames are very flimsy and will not hold up to regular use. Do your research and read the reviews on durability before buying these.

Expensive but not durable

Owned a pair for a few months and both arms broke at the point of taper underneath the antislip rubber. They took a roughly three foot fall off of my helmet when I was removing it. The materials seem cheap in appearance and feel. Smith won’t warranty my issue or even let me buy replacement arms. I’d buy a different brand in the future.

Ride Slayers

Love these shades or rides, I use them mostly for mtb and road biking. They have a huge field of vision, a rad style and ventilation that helps me to shred without compromise.

Faulty and not durable

I have had the wildcat lenses for a month or so. I work as a ski patroller and ordered these because I sweat a lot during work. They are not durable glasses to say the least. When I pulled them out of my pocket and put them on they fell off because it snapped. I don’t know if it was because I wear them all of the time or if it was because it was freezing temperatures. Regardless the product was defective. This company does not honor their product or the professional first responders in the outdoor industry. And just for the record I am very OCD and cautious about all of my goggles, sunglasses and lenses. These do not hold up.

Frame causes glare

Maybe these just didn't fit my face right, maybe I'm too used to my old glasses. Those caveats aside, I find the frame design left wanting. Primarily, in any white colorway, the frame is white all the way around the lens, including in the line of sight of the user. Especially mountain biking, I'm looking forward, then down, back and forth constantly and the glare from the white frame is incredibly distracting and fatiguing. Probably wouldn't be an issue in black, but it begs the question why these frames needed a full-frame design. I'm no engineer, but I hope Smith considers a half-frame design for future iterations.

The perfect mtb glasses!

I love the full coverage with full visibility and airflow combo! The clear lens is perfect for early mornings or late evening conditions on the trail, or anytime there’s heavy tree coverage. My original motivation for getting the Wildcat was to avoid the classic ‘bug in the eye’ on the downhill and it’s more than delivered. Fits perfectly with my Smith Engage mtb helmet. And the dark lens is just cool on and off the dirt. Highly recommend.

So far these are the best mountain biking glasses I’ve used

I love these glasses. I should have bought a second pair in black and white. Spent the week in Sedona and never had to worry about my eyes from sweat or dust. The red pensé was awesome all day and the clear was invisible I. The early AM. They fit perfect in my helmet like a great pair of goggles less the strap and foam. I would buy them again. Please make a something for smaller faces and I’ll buy a pair for my wife too.

Far better options for the price

Poor fit and mediocre lens compared to similarly priced brands. I tried to get used to these for about two months before ditching them for Oakley Sutros. The Wildcat frames are definitely in my peripheral view for biking and the upper lens will touch my eyebrows leaving a nice smudge every time I wear them. The frames also did not fit under my Smith brand helmet. They helped block the wind a little bit but did not prevent my eyes from watering. My first ride with the Sutros I forgot I had them on they were so comfortable, my eyes did not water, and their Prizm lens tech is far superior, no comparison.

Has some flaws

This was a warranty replacement purchase. I like the functionality of the frame, but Wildcat has two main problems and I expect to encounter them again with the replacement: The arms are fragile. My first pair had the arms snap at the hinge during regular storage in the backpack during a ski tour. With the style of these frames, it seems like the arm+hinge could be widened and strengthened. The arms contact the lenses. Over a few dozen tours and bike rides, my first pair had the inside of the lenses scratched by the ends of the arms. I like the style and size of Wildcat, but would not buy them again.

I am loving the wildcat

I am loving the wildcat glasses. They have such a comfortable fit on my face and stay put while I’m on the trail. These came with a clear lens- which is really nice for the days I just need protection against dust! It’s been hard trying to find something on and off the trail that hits every marker for me, but these are definitely it!
