Thule Cargo Box Set - Tiguan 2018 Model
I purchased the following items for my VW Tiguan 2018: Thule Evo Raise Rail - item # 1519940001 Thule one key system 6 locks: item # 1594340001 Thule Wingbar evo, 47 inch: item # Item # 1519970002 Thule Motion XT L, Titan Glossy - Item # 1172460002 This is a really solid system. I don't keep the cargo box on unless I need it, but the aerobars are on my vehicle at all times. With regards to noise, there is a whistling that I've heard at around 35-50 mph. It's not much and you wont really hear it unless the radio is off and the windows are down. The whistling sound goes away once you get on the highway. Driving with the cargo box on is very stable and no rattling noise for the most part. I did look up while we were driving (70-80 mph) and can see some movement. I was not worried about it because the box is made from ABS plastic and there is some flex to the cargo box. This is my first cargo box so I don't have anything to compare it to, but there is some noise at highway speed. The sound is similar to being on a plane but not as loud. The sound increases the faster you go and starts at around 50 mph. If you drive with the window down and no music you can hear it very clearly. I've also driven in the rain (>400 miles) with the cargo box and rain water did not get in. As for clearance, I was initially worried that keeping the bars on full time would mean that I cannot use my moon roof. This was not an issue. I'm able to raise my moon roof up and open the entire thing without contact with the raised rails. I originally purchased the 43" aerobars because I did not want the extra bit sticking out. However, the bars cannot be installed because there is a 1.5 inch clearance requirement on each side of the car. The 43" is about 2 inch too short. When the cargo box is on, I've positioned it so that the front lip of the cargo box does not go over the top of the windshield. Having the cargo box in this position, I was still able to fully open my rear lift gate without contact. The height of the VW Tiguan with the cross bars installed is 67.5 inches. Adding in the cargo box adds another 16.5" to the height. The Motion XT is measured at 18" but there are dips where the bars go and these are account for about 1.5". Total height of the car + cross bars + cargo box = 84". Finally, I bought the one key system from Thule. I chose the 6 lock option to cover all my locks. The cargo box has 2 locks and each raised rail has a lock each. This was an expensive purchase, but overall I'm happy with it.
Great looking rail system. Adds a whole new look
This product I am very pleased with. It makes the Scooby look like a whole different beast. I would definitly recommend these rails for anyone into biking, water sports, or tent camping.
High quality and easy to install
I read a lot of the reviews before purchasing these. I’ve had Tuly brand car racks once before many years ago so I decided to try the same brand based on my positive initial experience. Are used the wizard available to type in the make model in year of my vehicle and then just selected the pieces recommended. I strongly suggest this instead of attempting to piecemeal it together yourself given that you will need three different things ordered. And for each one item that you order, you get all the materials for both bars. A lot of the reviews complain about the assembly difficulty and challenging instructions. After having just assembled these myself and installed them on my vehicle in the past 30 minutes, I can honestly say I have no clue what those other complaints are about. The instructions were very simple and straightforward. They contained everything I needed to do it correctly the first time. They do come in a few pieces that you will need to assemble but it honestly was about a 10 minute assembly process. And the packaging and shipping were perfectly fine with lots of bubble wrap so that nothing was damaged. Then, once I put them on the car, they seem very high-quality and sturdy. My only concern is that the Evo rack oval diameter may exceed aftermarket kayak rack width capabilities. I wish the oval width had been listed somewhere in the measurements available online for this product.
The WingBar Evo Load Bars are strong
These Load Bars were installed on top of my Jeep Grand Cherokee. The install is pretty simple. On the ends, you have to insert hard plastic end caps. That was a bigger challenge because the bars were a bit dented in on the ends like they had been dropped a few times. But it wasn't just one end or bar, but on all ends, which then made me think by design? I noticed a few dents in the middle -- barely noticeable on the bars as well. I'm fine with it -- but for the price this setup costs -- I didn't expect this. I will recommend these, but just inspect everything closely.
Fitment
This is the first time getting a Thule roof rack system. I have always wanted a Thule system but when installing the rack I regretted it. The fitment is awful and looks completely wrong. The bolts screwed into roof can be seen easily due to bad fitment. I wanted to send it back but could not due to the need of having a rack to a road trip. Probably will not ever use this rack again
Perfect fit for Toyota Prius w/ glass roof
The glass sun roof can be opened/retracted without it touching the foot of the rack. The measurement, though, on the installation manual is not accurate. I just have to adjust the foot clearance based on the actual fitting of the foot rack into the roof side wall of the vehicle.
Best of the best.. WingBar Evo
Recently purchased these without hesitation. Knowing these will support my needs, and will stand up to its name. Remember, you get what you pay for.

Family planned Colorado ski trip first week of January 2022. Flight canceled. Rescheduling a mess. No confidence in air travel getting us to Colorado. Snap decision to drive 17 hours, straight through to ski. Picked up skis in Boulder. Didn't have cross bars for ski rack. Make impulse decision to buy cross bars and ski rack. I typically do a lot of research before buying mods for my 4Runner. I check specs, cost, reviews, etc. Unable to do that in this instance. I didn't even know I needed to buy feet for Thule or Yakima cross bars. We were pressed for time and I literally walked into Boulder REI, found someone, and said I need help buying cross rails and a ski rack. $903 later I had what I needed. I had no idea it would be so expensive - but that's on me for making an impulse buy in a time constrained situation. I believe the bars and feet are easy to install - provided you aren't experiencing sleep deprivation, rushing, trying to install it in the parking lot of Christy Sports when it's 30 degrees out, your fingers are numb while holding a flashlight in your mouth. When I returned home and reattached the cross bars, I found the directions quite simple and easy to understand. Just slow down, make sure your reading the correct directions (the directions include many different types of Thule cross bars), and have a tape measure. I read reviews where others complained about additional noise. I did not experience that. Overall, I am pleased with them. Because I did not have time to research and compare cost versus quality, I gave a 4 rating. I feel the cross bars are a top notch product - just expensive. BTW: they look really sharp!!!!
2021 BMW X2 Requires 50" (127) NOT 47" (118)
At pictured placement, 50" bars extend beyond flush-mount feet by 1" in front, and 2.5" in back. 47" bars come up 1" short in the front at pictured placement forcing the placement back 15" to the point that accessories interfere with the hatch.
No wind noise
I have been driving with these on my car for about a month now, and i head little to no wind noise in most conditions (usually when the windows are down you can hear it). The factory VW rack is really noisy and whistles and doesn't look as nice as these. Thule Wing-bar's are worth the extra money for sure.
