Ultimate Buggy
You can take it for a casual ride or take it off road with ease. Love it!
Jogging attachment
Received quickly so shipping would be a 5 star. Actual stroller attachment is difficult to maneuver and does not turn well. We have been using this for walks but I was also hoping to use it for runs and I am skeptical it will work. If you need a stroller for running it’s worth the extra purchase of a BOB, which we have and love for out daughter, however our puppy won’t fit in a bob and I was hoping to us the Burley with the jogging attachment so I could take the puppy on long runs while I wait for her growth plates to fully develop. We do love the Burley for biking with our daughter and would give the actual stroller when attached to a bike a 5 star.
Runner's Delight
Tracks great right out of the box. Really love the easy adjustment screws for tweaks to keep the wheel going straight. The stock stroller wheel on the standard hitch is great but this fixed wheel makes running a dream. It makes it almost as if the trailer loaded with kids and kid associated cargo weigh nothing. This is not great for around town use (twists and turns) because it doesn't turn easily. I find it best to put some weight on handlebar and lift the front wheel a little and pivot with the back wheels so it can manage but wouldn't be ideal. We are fortunate to have nice long straight paved paths near us so this things moves like its on rails. Solid product. It comes apart into three pieces so storage is very easy.
Recommended for running.
I loved running with my twin boys, and they love the ride! Between my wife and I, we run with the boys 5 days a week. We have been using it heavily for about a month now without issues. The wheel can be a bit tricky to attach, I found that the quick release axle on the wheel has to be unscrewed most of the way so the wheel can be mounted. Also it takes a a few tries to get the wheel mounted straight so the burley doesn't pull to one side, but that's to be expected with any quick release wheel. once it's going straight, then your good to go! The larger running wheel is great for running on trails and gravel, so if you plan on taking your burley out on some unpaved trails, then this is a must!
Make sure to look for the second spring
This is my second time buying it. I bought it once and couldn’t get it to properly track and it was always pulling one way no matter how much I tried to adjust it so it was returned disappointedly. After getting back into longer runs, I bought it again because of how much we love our Burley (and how not well the stroller wheels performed even at a slower jog). One thing I noticed on this purchase was the instructions stated to make sure there was a spring on both sides. In my package the springs were coiled together and I’m not sure I would have noticed it had the instructions not pointed it out. After installing the spring on both sides, there were no issues with tracking even on a really long run (10+ miles).
Great for All Seasons
My husband and I love this heavy-duty front wheel and use it all the time with our D-Lite X. Our road is unpaved, and this wheel is far superior to the standard stroller front wheel on uneven terrain or for going through an inch or two of snow. My sole complaint is that the wheel doesn't turn, so to turn the stroller, you've got to pop a bit of a wheelie. Not a deal-breaker, by any means, but slightly inconvenient. It's easy to adjust the alignment on the wheel, and it's a must if you're going to be using your Burley for jogging or in snowy/muddy environments.
The wheel is fixed
The trailer ran well with this wheel but maneuverability is hard. The wheel is fixed so I do not recommend this for runs with lots of turns. We ended up buying the stroller wheels and just run with those. It’s definitely bumpier with the stroller wheels but better for us.
Fixed front wheel is no good
I very much want a jogging wheel for our Burley and was hopeful that this would be a great addition. Unfortunately the front wheel is fixed which is fine if you are only ever going in a straight line, but TERRIBLE if you need to make any turns. We ended up sending it back immediately because of this problem. What would be great is to have the option for an inflatable small wheel in the place of the stroller attachment. This would give a pivoting wheel Thai is smoother and less noisy than the hard wheel on the stroller attachment. And, the stroller attachment wheel makes our hands go numb from the vibrations. Burley, I am begging you to fix this problem and offer a small inflatable wheel for the stroller option to gain the pivoting action necessary and a smoother ride .
Well built, works as advertised
As advertised, this wheel turns your bike trailer / stroller, into an excellent jogging stroller. We have been using it for a few months (running a few miles on a paved trail with our 2 year old) and we couldn't be happier with our jogger.
It works, but fixed front wheel is hard to maneuver with 2 kids
I have a toddler and a baby riding together on my D'Lite and pivoting/turning is really hard since the trailer handle can't take too much weight (babies together weight less than 50 lbs). The wheel looks great and works well (if you're not making many turns), I just wish the Burley handle was built stronger to the trailer frame to allow for more maneuverability when having to pivot to the back wheels to turn. Also, taking off the actual jogger kit is a lot trickier than expected.
