Well Made, Super Verisitile
First off, this is just a well made product. Fit and finish is spot on, high quality materials, no "cheap out" spots. Next, the versatility. To begin with, this is a super light aluminum crampon... that has steel front points! Feel free to kick some ice or rocks, they'll be fine. More than that, this is a modular crampon and CAMP doesn't do a great job of advertising this. The front can accept a semi-auto toe bail so you can also use this "ski touring" crampon with boots if they have a rear welt. Next, you can replace the shackle with a dyneema strap to drop the weight further and more importantly, store these folded in half to make them extra compact. Going from there, you can also swap front or rear sections with other CAMP crampons giving you the option of making this a much more tech capable crampon if needed. All around, I'm impressed! I bought these because they were on sale and Ineeded a new set for ski mountaineering and I'm finding a bunch of cool stuff I can do with them and they work great at the same time. One issue, the heel retainer knobs are a bit narrow so I had to bend them out slightly to properly fit my boot (like, .5mm)
