Revolutionary
I bought this for a climbing trip to Red River Gorge, and I was SO glad I did! It was the talk of the crag, too; everyone I saw climbing had the exact same one. This stickclip is a must have. It is very easy to use and compact. It attaches easily to your harness, and is super light, so you can bring it up with you as you lead. This was super helpful when we were projecting. I highly recommend!
Okay. Seems a little fragile
Somehow broke one of the internal retaining collars after not much use. Trango customer support was going to send me replacement parts but nothing ever arrived and they stopped responding. Otherwise seemed like a decent product. Not sure there's a great method for clipping a rope into an already hung quickdraw now that they've removed the velco strap they used to use for this purpose.
Must have for Sport Climbing
The larger stick is amazing. It packs up into a bag, extends to two stories tall. The most dangerous part of climbing is within the first two bolts where you have the potential for ground fall. This stick is stiff to make it easy to clip. As soon as I get the carabiner on the bolt it clips. I would highly recommend.
Stick Clip
It is very easy to use and has a pretty long reach. It is a little awkward climbing with it, if you want to project. But I am definitely happy with it and would recommend it.
Great size, Comes Apart Too Easy
Love the compactness, and had several friends purchase same. All had the same experience with at least one telescoping joint coming undone within the first dozen uses and losing clamping ability. Truly hope they fix this sometime (maybe stoppers and better pole clamps?).
Needs to be more durable
Would be great if a little more robust. Small enough to fit in my (large) pack. Long enough to reach most bolts in the RRG that I've encountered. However, lost a pin on one of the clamps on the very first day of use. Three people on three pitches. I was able to tape that part closed and lost some length to make it usable for the next day, but I'll be returning and trying again.
