incorrect information

The wheels internal width of the rim is actually 23mm not 22mm. Officially in the user manual says it supports tire sizes of 37-76mm for the 32mm I.D. While I was able to mount my 32mm tires it was fairly hard but not impossible. However, to get them off was really hard. Also My rear rim didn’t come with a user manual and had some scratches on it. The rear axle was supposed to be 142mm but measured out to 138mm and wouldn’t fit in my frame as it was to small. Other than that the wheels seem well made and the spokes are pretty think compared to my Roval wheels. Most likely going to return them as they are to big for the regular tires that I run.

37mm Tire mounted fine

Not sure what tire size previous buyers were using but a larger 37mm tire mounted just fine. Great solid wheel set at a good price. Would give 5 but the rear hub is slightly “noisy” when in motion but nothing huge.

Impossible to mount tire

Just got the wheels, tried to mount a Schwalbe Durano 28 (I know a little small for a 22mm rim) and it would not go on even with lots of talc and hook and lever tire irons. Tried a WTB 35 got closer but still would not go on. Thought maybe the tire is wonkey. Then tried the Durano on a Velocity Deep V rim, no problem. I have been riding for over 30 years and have changed more than a few tires on the road, I don't ever want to have to change a tire on this rim without a shop full of tools. Sorry REI they are going back.

Good value

Good closeout value, bought as the second monster cross wheelset. Set up as tubeless easily with floor pump. Pleasantly surprised at the Hugi/DT style star ratchet mechanism. A little bummed that its actually very quiet! Heard a couple rim strikes but came through unscathed. Designed to be run tubeless only, dont know if will work well with tubes. Rims rated fairly low psi, doesnt sound like would be good for narrow slicks

impossible to mount tire

I got this to replace my stock wheel set. I've been riding for about 15 years so I know how to change a tire. I tore 3 tubes trying to mount tire and still couldnt get it on. Then I took it to a local shop on my lunch to see if they would have some tricks. They tore 1 tube but actually did get the tire mounted. I dont know what I would do on the side of the road. Maybe if your going tubeless and never plan to change the tire.... Would not recommend.
