The BEST pants - I wish I had enough for everyday
These pants are the best and have become my favorite at the moment. I got them on sale to try out since my body fat likes to move around a lot and I change sizes fairly often…so I needed some new pants in the rotation recently. I ordered these for a hiking trip, and they exceeded expectations. I’ve just ordered two more pairs in different colors at a higher price point. ONLY potential con, though it doesn’t bother me: there isn’t a fly opening. Again, I don’t care about that. They fit perfectly! Right now I’m around a 33waist pants x 30 inseam; I got a Medium. They’re not baggy in the legs, but not too tight in the hip/butt and waist either. Lightweight enough that I don’t feel them weighing me down at all. The pockets are fantastic: little side one with zipper for a card, front pockets are straight across, deep, and secure, and back pockets are nice and deep with a little overlap so they are also secure! Performance wise, they have a very nice stretch when you need to climb over logs or anything else you may need to move weirdly for. They handled my sweat very well - that is, I got sweaty as usual but didn’t feel constantly swampy. I don’t think they directly contributed to my sweating either. They’re nice quality and hold up to scrapes and scuffs, giving some protection. They’re pants, so obviously not as cool temp as shorts, but they were nicely regulated and not hot. I didn’t wish I wore shorts. Best part - they look nice enough I can wear them to work! I work for the government and we’re relatively business casual, so I put on a polo with these and good to go. I expect these to last a long time, and I absolutely love them.
Seat/Rise too large
I wanted to love these pants. The colors, the construction, the fabric, the price point: all fantastic! But why do they fit like MC hammer pants? I shouldn't have to pull the waist up to my bellybutton in order to get the seat/crotch to fit correctly. I'm 5'10", weigh 140 pounds, and I ordered the small, which fit perfect in all other aspects... just not in the seat/crotch. I compared them to a pair of Prana Zion straight fit pants that I've had for a few years and the BDs have a 2+ inch longer rise. Is this a rock climbing thing I don't understand? Why would you want so much material in that part of the pants, especially when the material is stretchy?
Perfect for crag or gym!
These pants have it all! They are flexible with no break in process, super comfortable, and really stylish! The elastic waist with drawstring makes them both comfortable and adjustable while in a harness all day. The material is thick enough to be durable and protective against rock or gym walls, but still feel light and breathable. Lots of pockets including sealable pockets. Only complaint is they are a little long for someone my height. I wear a medium and am 5'6" and often roll them once or twice at the heel if I am bouldering.
Am I just a sweaty guy?
LOVE these pants for climbing and honestly, just daily wear. I’m 5’7 and bought the mediums. The inseam is a bit longer than I’d like, but still has all the room for moving while climbing. The one downside, which could just be a personal problem, is that the seat of the pants is a single layer of material. Breathable? Most certainly. Shows sweat? Most certainly. So, if you are a sweaty person you might find that these pants will let everyone in the gym know you are working hard or just sat in some water.
Durable, but showing the wear
I've had these for 7 months now, and they have been in fairly heavy rotation in my climbing clothes. They have held up well, but are looking a bit worn around the knee patches. As others have mentioned, its a slim fit in the calves, but I don't really mind when they ride up a little there, it doesn't impede movement, and the elastic cuff stops them from getting high enough to look or feel awkward. The stash pocket on the outside of the right thigh is convenient and zips securely, and the small flap on the back pockets means I can keep a small wallet on me without worrying about it. I'm probably going to buy another pair.

Worst climbing pants I’ve owned to date
I bought two pairs. The colors are great, the fit is ok. In regards to their durability: I bought them less than a year ago. Both pants required me to patch them up over and over again. One got so bad I just had to toss it. The second pair is heading in that same direction. I’m no pro climber. I climb outside once or twice a week on average and these things didn’t make it 3/4 of a year. Disappointing. Not a real climbing product, unless you plan on just climbing in the gym or going to the grocery store, skip out on these.
I'm a 5'10" women with
I'm a 5'10" women with a 34" inseam and bought these instead of the women's because A. the women's version does not have the thigh pocket, which fits my phone and . . . B. I needed a bit more length and the women's version is way too short, basically a capri. They are a leaner cut compared to most men's pants. However, the length is still disappointing even being a jogger style I sized up to a medium and they still run super short and will shrink in the dryer. I do like the rest of the fit besides the leg length being too short. Also, I love the heavy cotton. I often wear denim for climbing on sandstone and these provide comfort, flexibility and a bit of a protection to the rock that a lot of lighter technical nylon/poly pants do not. I climb in the regularly on sandstone and granite. The brown curry color is also not as orange as shown on website
LOVE THE FIT - But Darn Quality Control & Design Issues
Let me start by saying I absolutely love these pants. Great fit, cut, etc. Great for lounging, climbing or traveling. I'd reach for them every day except... I had a brand new pair arrive with a 1 inch hole in the seam. Got the run around when I called to try to get them replaced. Finally submitted a warranty claim and I'm going into week three and no contact or resolution from BD. Also, I have two other pairs of these pants. All have had the stitching for the back pocks "burst" when squatting. I'm 5'10" and 165 lbs. Wearing a medium. I'm not a big guy. For a pant that's meant for movement, the fact you can't squat in them without bursting out a back pocket seam is disappointing.
So good I bought two sizes
Love the fit and feel of these. I wish I could wear them everyday. I bought a size medium for a more tailored fit and size large for slightly baggier more relaxed fit (I'm 5'11" and 180lbs).Still not restrictive at all in this size for me. I wear them as scrub bottoms with a cornflower blue scrub top and they look mighty fine. Then I wear them to the climbing gym afterwards. Soft, stretchy, and durable. NOTE: The description says they're good for indoor training and "cool days in the boulders" but I would even wear these for "colder" days. A little thicker fabric than you'd imagine.

Notion Pants - Can't Stop Buying Em
Own 5 pairs of these now in all different colors and I'm still enticed to get more with the new color selection. They are comfortable, durable (reinforced knees are a must-have), and stylish. So far they've held up well while route-setting and climbing. I have 2 pair that I've owned for 2 years and with constant use (once/ wk), I'm just ripping through the first layer of fabric on the knees. As others have mentioned, the colors have faded over time (esp. the darker colors) but for me it's functionality over aesthetics; besides, they still look fine. Will buy more when needed.
