Love Love Love

I have been struggling with another brand of hand strap for a couple of years. I finally had enough and found the reasonably priced Peak Design product. I already have and love the PD travel tripod, so I decided to try the Clutch. I love the Clutch! It fits my Nikon Z8 perfectly and does what I need it to do. It was super easy to install once I watched the short video, and I won’t have to remove it to use the tripod. Another huge deal is that Clutch doesn’t block the battery or memory card doors. Clutch is easy to use and feels very secure. I look forward to having a great experience hand-carrying my camera from now on.

Peak Design Clutch 3.0 Camera Strap

I don’t like my camera hanging on my neck. Instead,I was looking for a camera strap for my Nikon Z 7ii. I have seen really good reviews about this item and I wanted to give it a try. I am a REI member for a long time and I was very happy to see them carrying this item. Instead of big camera store, I rather spend my money at REI. The experience was great and I like the item. It is easy to adjust on the fly. Loosening and tightening of the strap quickly is a difference maker for me. They use a quality material and looks like, it would last a long time. You can find similar items but I used Peak Design products before they stand behind their product. I highly recommend it.

Excellent hand strap

I've had a battery grip on my DSLR for 20 years. All that I've had before has basic straps that loop around and go through friction adjusters like a standard neck strap. In a hand strap, fractions of an inch make a big difference in the feel. Getting a good fit was tedious and semi-permanent. This Peak Design strap removes all of those negatives. The quick connection is great. The sliding caribener strap lock is quick and easy to loosen and snug down. I can hold my camera without even gripping it while walking around. The quality of materials is great compared to the padded pleather/suede straps I've had in the past. I moved to a mirrorless Canon R7, which doesn't have an available battery grip. The Peak Design mounting plate works perfectly in the optional (recommended by me) clip holster, on my tripods, etc. I know there's not much to it, but I did, and would gladly pay for another one. I'm glad it got this version vs the micro clutch. I'd much rather have a more sturdy strap, and with a full cage and a few heavy EF L lenses it works great. It's also no issue with the uncaged body and small lenses.

The Clutch Improves All Camera Grips

I've had my clutch for some time now. It's moved from my 5D mark 4 over to my R6 and I love having it on a camera so much that I'll be purchasing an additional one so I can ensure I'll have one on each camera I may be shooting with. What I love about the clutch is that it takes an excellent camera grip and adds a 100% certainty that you won't drop or otherwise lose your grasp on that grip. I love the way the 5D mark 4's larger grip feels in my hand, and the same with the R6 deeper but slimmer grip but the clutch gives me a certainty that I won't accidentally drop my camera. It takes a minute to adapt to having it on the camera, but once you do, it's a phenomenal and inexpensive buy, plus with Peak Design's anchor links, you can still have the option for a normal camera strap. Overall, the system is very well designed and takes any camera strap system and gives it that little extra versatility. On a final note, the clutch also works perfectly with battery grips so a professional on the go can also get some great value out of their gear even when shooting outside a multiple camera professional setting. Great work Peak Design!

Works as it should.

I haven't bought a proper strap for my new mirrorless yet and wanted some extra security for when I wander down to sunset at night and this seemed like a good solution, and it is. It's well made and just makes me feel more comfortable about carrying the camera loose. I use L brackets for a lot of my work, which this is attached to, so I always have an allen wrench in every bag I own and since they take the same size I'm never without one. One thing I will say is it is difficult to reach the front function wheel on my Z6ii when my hand is in it, even if it's loosed up, but in general it's great for the purpose I bought it for.

Perfect for those one camera shoots.

This is great when it's a one camera day. I have two slides and a leash as well. I use the two slides when shooting with both a D500 and D850. My only request would be incorporating the QR to the upper connection point. It's a little bit of a pain to thread the loop through the triangle ring and it leaves the QR button that's already attached in the way. I tuck it between the clutch and the loop, but it always seems to eventually work its way back out. Other than that, it's very comfortable (no more hand cramps from gripping the body for hours) and super easy to adjust throughout the day. Another excellent design from Peak!

This Clutched my Heart!

I've spent so much money on similar products to hand hold my camera securely, I should have just taken hundred dollar bills and ripped them up then flushed them down the toilet. So I wasn't prepared to be giddy with happiness when I installed and used Clutch. How much do I love it? I love that it plays nice with my neck strap. I love it so much I bought a second one so it would not be lonely. (And I don't have to take the time switch it out on my 2nd body) Even my cat likes it, and he never likes anything.

Not Ideal for Mirrorless Cameras

The Peak Design Clutch did not work well on my Fujifilm X-T3. The design of Clutch is idea for a forward facing index finger, but inhibits less natural grips required for smaller mirrorless cameras. While noted on the packaging, I did not catch that it states, "optimized for full-frame DSLRs and larger cameras." I'll be exchanging for the Peak Design Cuff wrist strap in order to give me a little assurance that I do not drop my camera.

Simply awesome

Had been interested in trying the Clutch for a while but my only hesitation was that it's promoted as an alternative to using a shoulder strap for carry. I do love my Slide strap, especially as I almost always have a long lens mounted on a Canon R7. After reading a few reviews showing both in use I ordered one and couldn't be happier. It really does seem to add security, comfort and most importantly for me, stability while the camera is in hand for shooting. It doesn't add bulk when everything is packed away in my Everyday Backpack 15L Zip and the mounting plate plays nice with the Slide and Arca-type tripod clamp. At least for my purposes the Clutch/Slide combo works perfectly.

Simplicity = elegance

This is typical Peak Design, well made purpose driven and still good looking. The clutch frees you from the neck strap but still secures your camera. Nice features include the arca mounting plate that fits my tripod ànd a quick release that allows me to clip the camera to my bag or another strap. Built for rh carry , but, so are most cameras. Easy to adjust and on my camera nothing important was blocked. Ie, battery, memory, usb port. It does mount to the tripod screw, but it does this on an arca plate so for me it did not matter. This is my third hand strap and I believe it is a winner.
