New to clipless fall proof
I bought two pairs of these. The first was to try them out, the second was because I loved the first. Normally, I don’t write product reviews. But I had to after I wore these the first time I used my SPD-SL pedals. Naturally, I fell over a few times. On one of those falls, I scraped up my knee which was covered by these tights. And to my surprise, there is no hole where I scraped up against the concrete. In fact, once I wash the blood out, I won’t even be able to tell I took the fall.

terrible chamois
I have a two year old pair of REI Co-Op 3/4 length biking "knickers". They are wonderful to ride in and so comfortable I walk around in them when I get home. The chamois is one-piece, just the right thickness, and perfectly positioned. I thought I was purchasing the same product when I bought the Junction 3/4 bike tights. Sadly, it is not at all the same product. The chamois is stitched in concentric circles resulting in a ridge down the middle. I felt like I was sitting on a rail! Wedgies front and back! Plus the chamois stuck out in the front -- it was too long. I had to turn around after 3 miles and get them off me. This was a struggle as they run very small. I am reliably a XS at 5' 1", 100 lb. But these were very, very tight. I don't know who they would fit. I will be returning them, very disappointed. It would be helpful if the product description had a picture of the chamois.

Very comfortable and high back

I took these on a two-hour test ride, which normally would be risky for new pants but these were so comfortable, I could have kept going. They didn’t chafe at all, and the chamois, although it seemed to extend farther forward than necessary (I have a few pairs of bike pants that do this, I’m not sure why - I’m not super hunched over but nor am I upright) didn’t poke or bother me like my other ones do. I love the pocket (wish there were two) and it goes up to cover your lower back. I hate when they don’t - I currently have a sunburned strip from where my jersey rode up and a different pair of pants didn’t fill the gap! Really pleased with these, hope REI keeps making similar quality apparel.

My first padded tights and LOVE them!

I tried on quite a few padded shorts and tights and these fit the best. After 100s of miles of riding, these tights are my favorite! Very comfortable, breathable, they stay in place, and have a more flattering fit than most others. I'm usually an XL and bought these in L and they are perfect. Great value, highly recommend!

My favorite tights to date!

I have been road cycling for over 30 years. The density of fabric is just right for weather ranging from warm to chilly. The tights are expertly made and wonderfully comfortable. Nothing hurts. The padding was stiff the first time I wore the tights but after the 2nd washing, totally comfortable ( padding is not too thick or too thin). I am 5'4", 114 lbs and size small is a perfect fit. I will definitely buy another pair and highly recommend these tights.

Comfortable (but pretty lowrise in the front)

These are super comfortable and fit perfectly. Chamois is super awesome and comfy. I'm not crazy about the way the waist-line scoops down in the front, but not going to ding this review because of that! (I guess i prefer a more high-rise fit for bike shorts.)

Comfortable, great fit, and quality

These bike pants provide a comfortable ride. I'm 5.2" and 120 lbs, and the Medium size fit perfectly. I love the calf length, which actually helped during a crash - the pants protected my knee from an even worse road rash and survived with only a small hole in the knee area. I ordered another pair and have been using these over the summer. Good price as well compared to other similar pants

Great on trails, slide down hips otherwise

I have worn these pants a few times now, and I love them on the trail. Comfortable and nice fit (I am curvier so it’s nice to find womens bike clothes that actually fit me!). They do slide down my hips when walking around though and sometimes the chamois will get caught on my seat after I try and get riding again because they don’t fully stay up on my hips. Other than that, great product. Thank you REI for making bike clothes to fit curvy ladies!

Painful wedgies

I have the same design in shorts, so figured that these would be just as comfortable. Unfortunately, I cannot ride without getting the most painful wedgies (you know the ones). I can be sore for the rest of the day after a 20 minute commute ride.
