They fall apart
One star because they’re comfortable. But only one because they fall apart. I’ve had these since last summer (they weren’t worn at all from Sept through most of June) and they are ripping out where the straps connect to the sole. Absolute junk. And this is the second pair this happened to. I’m not hard on my shoes; these are just poorly made.
Holes in the Soles? A hole in my soul. Only a year
I had a similar style of Teva for 7 years that I wore into the ground, hiked in, traipsed about, yada yada, so when the time came to replace them I had high expectations. My lifestyle has changed a bit, so I am hiking less but still using this shoe as a primary shoe. I bought these in March 2024 - so just over a year ago - and already there are holes in the soles of both shoes. The holes let in water and the water swells the interior portion of the shoe, forming a knot/ball at the ball of my foot during rainy weather. It's nuts to me that this is the same brand and such a similar style of shoe to my beloved Tevas of yore and that they've been unable to pass muster. What a bummer.
Dumbed Down Version of Original
This is the closest version to what I purchased about 15 years ago. Unfortunately, they have cut corners. Needless to say it is not near the same quality. My original Tevas took me comfortably over hundreds of miles but sadly are finally giving up the ghost : ( So heartbroken they have decided to dumb down what was a magnificent product. My mantra? "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Including photo of the original (which I used to wear with a Pro-Foot insert for extra support). You'll probably be ok with them if you have nothing to compare them to.
Cute comfort sandals
Supportive, wide footbed with cushioned velcro closures. Runs large I wear a 9 or 9.5 in many shoe brands but found size 8 perfect. My heels are narrow but my toes wide so perfect for me.
Comfort and support!
Very supportive and comfy! I have had plantar fasciitis and cannot walk comfortably in most sandals. These are my go to! Thanks Teva for continuing your support!
Up to the task
Sturdy sole to protect the bottom of your feet. Friction pads at all of the rub points. This is the most important feature to allow for in water and trail hiking. I have used Tevas for days on end in the Grand Canyon! I did give their top competitor a try, and it resulted in multiple blisters during a big hike. Don’t do that to yourself! Another added feature is the lip that is higher on the heel and toe, wonderful for protection.
Wanted to love, but didn't
I really wanted to like these (they're similar to the Tevas I owned as a kid), but I found that even this model with the extra padding at the joints gave me blisters. My pair also had a manufacturing flaw that led to a sharp, pointed edge of canvas digging into my skin. I thought I had managed to fix it on my own, but the problem never really went away and between that and the blisters, my feet suffered on a river trip. I think others with wide feet are best off finding other options (but good luck).
poor durability
The sandals are comfortable but not very durable. I've had them for a little over a year, and they are pretty much shot because the straps are ripping out of the soles. The bottom of the sole itself also already has some holes. Disappointing.
Great footbed for problem feet
I have lots of foot issues including very hot feet, neuroma & plantar fascitis. The foot bed is great! Many other shoes are "comfortable" until my feet start sweating & stick to the foot bed. This is the 4th version of Teva Terra Fi shoes that I have owned. I liked these shoes so much, that I bought another pair for next year.
My favorite style of Tevas
I love these bc the are not bumpy on the bottom and they have padding along most of the straps which makes them very comfortable, especially with the thicker sole. They can be hard to find with all three components. This is my 3rd or 4th pair because i wear them daily for 9 months out of the year!
