Platypus  HyFLO Bite Valve

better flow than the original that came on my pack, would like it to be a little less restrictive.

Needed a hydration pack with a drinking tube, but already owned a 4L GravityWorks system. Just tested and confirmed that this bite valve DOES fit on the 1/4" tubing from the GW filter system. Use the buckled Hang Loop on the Clean Reservoir to hang the reservoir inside your pack, run the tube out through the top, weave it into one of your shoulder straps, and put this Bite Valve on the end where the filter would normally attach. Boom - filter system converted into a hydration pack with drinking tube for $7. (Bite valve cover is another $8 - optional but recommended IMO).

This is a Perfect replacement for the original valve!

I ordered 2 of these valves; one to replace the one that cracked at the top of the lip and started leaking. It was a good thing I ordered the spare because the first one I put on was already cracked...in the same place, and was immediately leaking. Since this seems to be a consistent weak spot, maybe you should consider working on improving the design? So far, the "spare" is lasting OK. Maybe the design will be improved by the time it cracks:)

This has no instructions and is nothing like the old valves. Old valves coild just bite and drink. Am I supposed to make a first cut/slit to the valve to have it self-seal on first use? What if I cut it and it is wrecked. Why is there no way to just use it? This is not intuitive or it is a total defect.

This valve allows excellent flow. When you are engaged in high intensity activities like Mountain Biking and trail running you need to get water quickly and easily. This bite valve fits the bill and generally doesn't need the shutoff valve to be closed in order to stop flow. It is also easy to clean.

These bite valves work well. Great flow and don't leak when they have not been chewed. I recommend buying extras if you have kids using them. My kids tend to break the seal easily so they leak. For the kids I use the Evo shut off valve and that has seemed to solve the leaking issues.

Glad to see a one piece design for the bite valve since I was tired of taking the old valve apart for deep cleaning. Good to see that this is also a bit cheaper. I've lost more of the old valves than have ever worn out and I'm glad that these replacements are more reasonably priced.

Did not fit the bite valve I bought it for. Highly displeased with it as it was advertised especially to replace previous models with compatibility.

I did not want the high flow bite valve, but I did want the bite valve cover which only fits the high flow bite valve. I use it and it's fine.
