I dropped mine somewhere along the trail, bought two more in case it happens again. It’s been an excellent companion, the bristles are great for on the spot clean up of mushrooms we intend to bring home and eat. Makes it easier in the kitchen.
This product may seem a little bit Niche but if you go foraging for mushrooms off and you're going to love it. The design makes really clean cuts. The blade is relatively thin but quite resilient. The curve of the body assists each cut. The bristles on the end are fantastic for quick clean-up when you are trying to make good time and keep from bruising your shrooms!
Blade can become stuck in closed, or more dangerously, in open position if used in rain. The wood handle swells and pressure prevented blade from pivoting.
very functional knife for a forager. great size, shape and blade. durable brush
My daughter recently discovered a love for foraging. Having Opinel knives myself I was confident she would enjoy this mushroom knife as a gift. Feels good in the hand, light but not cheap, very sharp. Four stars only because I don't give five for anything I review.
That's what a mushroom forager's knife is supposed to be. It's actually a bit too sharp and hazardous for fingers to be used in the forest as is, so I've been using it at home as well just to blunt it a bit.
Great knife in general, but extra helpful for mushroom foragers
