Great for MTB
I like this pack, it looks great, will hold the essentials really well for when I’m out riding and the fact that I can add a hydration pack later on sits really well with me. The REI exclusive color makes this even better. I have 2 gripes though. 1. No reflective surfaces, any backpack for hiking and cycling would benefit from reflective surfaces. 2. Fit, This seems to be a better fit a girl or a small framed guy. I’m 5ft6 and have to have the adjustment almost all the way out so the cross support on the back doesn’t hit the back of my neck when I’m riding. Other that those 2 things. I’m happy with it.

Too many issues
Not your regular daypack. Very slim/tall and has no give. It cannot sit up vertically and will flop over. It seems to always be flat on the ground when not on me. Water bottle issue is still the same, no mater what size bottle if falls out. AND the elastic part become loose with use. Back part of strap ride up neck causing abrasions. Useless cinch straps, gets in the way when accessing bag. I kept it but after use I found out all these things that drove me nuts. Very frustrating. Light weight and good fabric.

Perfect when you just need a few essentials!

Great for short trips! Super comfy and the perfect amount of bells and whistles. I used the pack on multiple trips in the Alaskan backcountry, and it has held up well. I don't see any wear or tear on it despite some intense bushwacking. I'm also very impressed with how waterproof it is despite not really advertising that. I've taken it on a few kayaking trips, including one where I flipped and the pack was under water for about a minute before I could get to shore. Everyting in it, to my suprise, was dry. I do think this fits better on a shorter torso than a longer one but for a day trip it's minimal discomfort.

great day pack for climbers

I’ve had this pack for about three years now and use it when I solo easy routes in the mountains. It easily fits a few layers, a water bladder, some food, key chain holder, other items in the organized pockets. The mesh pockets hold a map and many other small items such as iodine a Compass and sunscreen. As a climber I would not wish to have loose water bottle holder on the side so I’m glad that it’s sewn tight.. Excellent non top loading backpack for the mountains. I bought this for a friend as a gift because I like it soo much.

Drawbacks make this gorgeous pack almost unusable

I am mostly a day-hiker -- 4-8 miles at a stretch. However, I always hike with emergency essentials and extra water, so I need a daypack, even though my hikes are typically only an hour or two. I have the yellow pack and LOVE the unique color and pattern. But, the biggest problem is that the "built in" handle is just WAY too high and it hurts my neck. The strap sits about a third of the way up my neck, no matter how I adjust the straps. The mesh side pockets will hold sunglasses and not much else. They aren't really big enough for my phone and will definitely NOT hold a water bottle. The cinch straps are useless and impede access into the main pouch. The main pouch will not fit my smallish laptop, so I can't even use this pack casually. The main pouch has no dividers. There is a small zippered compartment and that's useful. But the tall, narrow main compartment could use dividers. I saw this pack online and fell in love. My husband got it for me for my birthday, and I'm heartbroken that it is nearly unusable.

Beautiful bag, some design flaws

I got this bag as a day pack for commuting on my bike. I love the size and the pattern and bright yellow color, it takes the place of a vest when I bike at night. My biggest complaint is the side pockets - the angled pocket means my water bottle falls out easily when I bend over or hit a bump on my bike. So I usually thread the buckle strap through it so it doesn't fall out, but it defeats the purpose of being able to easily grab my water without taking the bag off while I'm on my bike (stopped or moving). Though it is easy to access my phone, which was the other reason I wanted open side pockets. Also, the top pocket is great for quick access but because it's shallow it makes it top heavy, so it flops down which can be annoying if it's open when I open the big pocket and everything falls out. Also, the strap at the top is weird, it digs into my neck a little. I usually don't notice it but it's a weird design. I'm a sucker for a good aesthetics though, so I haven't returned it.

Cute fabric design but....

Very nice looking and Osprey is a a quality brand BUT the fit of this daypack was very awkward. I am 5.5 and the bottom sat to low on my back and the foam is very stiff so it was uncomfortable. Also the fit on the shoulder felt way to high and crowded my neck when the chest strap was fastened it made it even more binding and uncomfortable.

Two significant design flaws

Water bottle pockets are still lousy. The small mesh pocket for keys and the like is at the top of the bag, not the bottom. If you put more than a few items in this pocket, it creates a bottle neck that makes it very difficult to put larger items, such as a half gallon of milk, in the main compartment. This backpack is small enough as it is - I got it because it was small - but the bottleneck makes it effectively much smaller than it needs to be.

Ok for the money, I guess!

Purchased this for my short day hikes. It’s affordable and made by an excellent brand. I don’t like the fact that the pockets intended for water bottles don’t hold them secure, and it lacks suffice padding on the shoulder straps. does not seem intended to carry some weight.

Very comfy

Surprised how such a small pack was so comfy and still held so much. Just did a 9 mile hike to Round Top, literally forgot I had it on at one point. Easily adjustable.
