Inconsistent sizing among colors
I bought this in the mustard-y yellow color and black. The yellow is more muted than in the photos, but I really like it. These fit exactly in my expected size, as I have purchased Prana pants before. The black, however, is *significantly* smaller. These are supposed to have stretch, and the black has zero stretch—to the point where I cannot get my ankles through the bottom opening. I’m trying to figure out if this is a sizing error (and these are a mislabeled size? How common is that?) or if the discrepancy is really that huge. 3 stars because the yellow pants are a 5. The black pants—same size, same Oday jean—aren’t stretchy nor do they fit. I laid the pants on top of each other so you can see the difference. It’s about a 1/2 inch of fabric in the hips and legs despite the waist being the same.
Inconsistent fit between colors
I bought my first pair of Oday jeans in the indigo wash a year or so ago. I've loved them so much that I decided to try for another pair, this time in black. I honestly have no idea how the black fit because I wasn't able to pull my foot through the ankle end of the pants. I measured the ankle opening of both my old indigo pair and the new black ones and they are off by 1/10th cm. That sounds like a trivial amount, but apparently that's all it took to prevent me from pulling my feet through. I also noticed that the indigo has considerably more stretch along the ankle seam, so perhaps they used a different type of thread on the black pair? There is almost no discernible stretch in the black pair, even though the fabric is 19% poly and 2% spandex. I'm giving these 2 stars because of how much I've enjoyed my first pair, but I'm now hesitant to purchase any other color of this style. For reference, I am 5'6, 120lb and wear a 2 in the indigo. I purchased a 2 & 4 in black to compare sizing and both sizes had the same ankle issue.
Finally!! The wait is over...
I am not a jeans fan. In the past I haven’t even liked the Kayla or Kara (I’m built with a little middle, barrow hips with a booty) and the oday rise works for me! I’m stoked to say I’m finally get on board with stretch denim... really, any denim-so this is a big deal for me. I hope more colors come- a note-Don’t order the midnight, it is not the Kara denim is not comfy get the indigo and you’ll be happy as a clam. . In conclusion: These are awesome ???? I’m wearing a 0 short and do use a bet to avoid gapping. Thanks Prana, I will order another pair to rotate with my Briann zions - my go to for work to play- when you add more Kara-denim colors.
Fit is not quite right.
I really loved these jeans the moment I put them on. I am 5'4" and 124lbs. I got a size 4. They fit nice and snug in the legs, perfect length, and I love the high rise, and they were flattering and comfy. However, after wearing them they really loosened up, too much around the waist and hips. So, now they are too big. I'm super bummed. Maybe a size 2 would be better, but I'm afraid the waist would also stretch out to a 4 or 6.Prana, can you make jeans without the spandex?? I love all your designs, but not the stretch. I used to looove the Kara Jeans too, but seriously they stretched out like two sizes too big over time.
A PANT FOR A FIT HUMAN BEING
Y'all. I am a 5'4 150lb woman. I danced my whole life so my thighs are strong, and I currently weight lift heavy and climb so I am a generally athletic build. AND THESE PANTS FIT!I ordered a size 4 and they are almost perfect. If the waistline were a bit more snug, they would be 100% perfect for my body type. Which is a freaking miracle sentence, since pants are typically either way too tight on my thighs and too loose on my waist, or they give me an impressively awful camel toe but otherwise fit well.Yay, PrAna! You rock.(I am currently wearing these pants, btw. I live in them. So excited to get the darker color.)
Flattering fit
So, I am 5'11" and 155 pounds. I ordered the size 8 and it fits loosely around my waist but I always size up. It's marketed as a high-rise jean but compared to other high rise jeans it hits me right at the tip of my hip bones rather than at my belly button. The jeans have a flattering fit. My boyfriend complimented me on them. My one complaint, is that there is no stretch to them which I find uncomfortable in the knee region. Also, be aware that the tall inseam is 32" which is considered a regular inseam in most jeans. This is a pant I plan to wear more in fall with ankle boots so it has not been an issue.
Good jeans, but...
I like the color and style of the jeans. I was looking for high-waisted jeans to keep in my post-baby tummy. These are high enough, but I find myself hiking them up constantly, because they slide down and are otherwise too long in the crotch. The waist band is tighter than the below fabric, so they "pooch" out and draw attention to my lower belly, which was exactly what I wanted to avoid. The material is okay, but definitely not stretchy and soft, like you see with other jeans. They feel like stiff canvas, even after many washes. Overall, a good purchase, but definitely some weird sizing/fit issues.
Cute, but no dice
I ordered these in black and the fabric is gorgeous. I SO wish they would work, but I had several issues. On the pro side- they were a fabulous shape on the waist- loved the rise and the fit on the hips. But, the ankles were really tight, like I had to wrestle to get them over my not very big feet. Also, overall, they were really small. I wear 4 in Kayla and Kara jeans and 6 in this was too small. Lastly, the fabric didn't have as much stretch as I hoped. I love to move in my clothes and hoped these would be a little more flexible. I might try an 8, but the ankle issue and the fabric just might not work.
Tiny ankles only
Great fit around the waist! I also love the denim color. I am completely baffled by the sizing at the ankles. I feel like I have pretty average ankles... the leg of these pants tapers to an absurd level. My foot popped through the end and I knew I wouldn't get these off without also having to remove my socks. Luckily I snagged a pair in the tall length so I plan on lobbing off the ends and re hemming them. In transparency, I prefer straighter legs but it seems like the trend right now is for shorter length with those - it's winter and we need length here. Despite my desire for the skinny jean styles to phase out, a size adjustment in the ankles of these pants might even win me over.
Runs a size small, especially in the waist. Gingerbread color is awesome.
I have lots of prana jeans, all size 4 short. I tried these in the gingerbread size 6 and 8 regular length. The 8 was great in the waist and way too baggy everywhere else. The 6 fits perfectly overall except the waist, which is too tight and uncomfortable when sitting. As others have said, the waist does not stretch. The gingerbread color is awesome. The length is perfect and ankles were no problem to get on. I'm 5'5" 130lbs with a square shape, a little extra padding in the middle; my narrow hips are not much bigger than my waist. If I had a tiny waist they would be perfect. Such a bummer these are not consistent in sizing or proportions to all the other prana jeans i have and love.
