Outdoor Research  Astroman Sun Shirt - Men's

I own 6 or 7 of these shirts now, both short and long sleeve. They're my new go to shirts for going out, going to the office, or simply hanging out. I'm 5'10, 170 lbs and have an athletic build. The medium shirts are a perfect fit for me. The fabric is very comfortable and the slight stretchiness means they don't feel tight, even though they are snug on my biceps. They're long enough to tuck in, but short and snug enough to look great untucked - something I can't say for many other shirts I own. I hope OR makes these in more colors in the future - particularly solids, which are even more versatile than the plaids.

I decided to purchase this shirt after spending a day climbing in Tuolumne and having my skin suffer as a result of the sun exposure. At first I did not think a button down shirt could breathe as well as a baselayer or active shirt, but man was I wrong. This shirt does it all - it breathes, stretches, keeps the sun off your neck, and looks good enough to travel in or wear to the bar. In fact, it's become my go-to travel shirt in addition to my go-to summer climbing shirt. Oh, and the fit is fantastic. I think this shirt will quickly become a flagship OR product. They just need a few more colors!

I only wish i got to hit the skin track with this on my back. What a great shirt it would be for the spring ski season, quick drying, not binding, and great breathability. I have used it mainly as an everyday shirt, and have been happy with its performance in my active daily life in the hot and muggy southeast. I have not spent a whole day climbing, but have dabbled enough to know that the stretch is a beautiful creation. I tend to use my chest pockets often and having the snap and cover has proven beneficial as I now do not grab at my chest while bending over to inspect something in this shirt my other quick dry nice looking button down shirts have me droping things out of the chest pocket while bending over.

I've long been a fan of the Astroman shirts and the current version is as breathable and light as ever. I wear this to work in our office and also outside guiding local rock climbing and via ferrata trips in southwest Colorado. I literally wear one of these 5-6 days a week and absolutely love them. The new version fits more trim than the previous generation, which isn't a negative, it's just something to know. I bought a large in the new version, but it's a bit snug and short for my 5'11" 185lb frame. I'll probably size up when I next order one. Great job OR and thanks!!

Really enjoying this shirt. Quick dry and some stretch to it.

The Astroman was love at first touch! It was eyes-burning-with-sweat-hot out the other day cragging and this shirt wicked moisture, stayed dry and didn't stink. At the bistro later that night dinner would've been covered had I charged a quarter to each person who fondled my shirt. I'm 5' 9", 167 and have a 40" chest - I find the large fits me perfect (airing on the roomy side) for casual wear and rock climbing. I have had zero issues with durability; no problems with the snaps and the fabric is still like new after many washings and countless hours of wear.

I spend a lot of time in the sun and working at heights so wanted something that would shield me from the sun, be comfortable, and stylish while instructing in front of a class of other professionals. This shirt hits the mark. I was pleased enough with the first one I bought that I decided to buy another one. I like that the shirt has snaps versus buttons. The only thing that is a little weird are the under-collar corner snaps. I get they are supposed to be for clipping the collar up to further block the sun's rays, but it's not comfortable that way and kind of misses the mark, for me. Still, it's a hidden-feature and doesn't affect the rest of the look and feel of the shirt. Overall, this is a great garment and happy I bought it.
