I love these pants, really love them. I think all of the colors are great. I have the henna (orange) and teal color. Great workmanship, great material. The only issue, for me, is the lack of variation in inseam length. The 32" inseam is really slightly too long for me. But I like the pants too too much, and so make it work. And, hemming is not really possible with the ties in the cuff and scuff protection on the back of the bottom of the pant. All great additions. So, if 32" is your inseam, consider this a 5 star rating. If you have shorter legs, then you gotta figure something else out.
These pants might be the most comfortable canvas-style pants I've worn. A little warm for mid-summer, but outside that, they breath quite well. They're definitely the most stylish or "fashionable" pants I've worn, and have a bit of a "Euro" look to them because of the color block pockets on the back, but I feel comfortable in them style-wise.That said, they have all the bells and whistles of a great climbing pant (Side zipper pocket, rear zipper pocket, all the regular pockets you'd find in standard jeans, drawstring at the bottom of the legs so you can hike them up). Add on to that the full-length gusset between the legs, and you've got a comfortable, stylish, and practical pant to take you from the crag to the bar!
They are my definite favorite pants, the color, comfort, size are amazing. Spot on the best looking and easy manoevers. I've been using these pants as climbing, casual and now even as my work pants, I do tough landscaping. My only sad spot is that they do not last long. I've had 3 pairs as my casuals pants no climbing or anything and they do not last more than 1 year. The cotton just starts tearing everywhere, the back pockets go out, the croth and front pockets, too sad. I have gone through 6 pairs now. I truly would like to get my self a new pair but can't afford it. Really wish you guys can innovate the material and also come up with a work pant would be amazing. Continuum best design just needs to last longer.
Before you go buy these, know a couple of things:1) Apparently there is a single inseam length across all waist sizes. This might not be a problem for middle-size waists, but for my size 28 waist par, the legs are ridiculously long. Going to have these guys hemmed. 2) They are heavy and not the most breathable pant, so probably not the best choice all-around climbing pant. That being said, I can't imagine a better pair of pants for crack climbing. I've used them several times now, just got back from climbing chimneys on castleton tower jamming my knees directly into the rock and there isn't even a scratch on these reinforced-knee pants! The waist and ankles have drawstrings for adjusting, a couple of zipper pockets for cell phone or whatever. Great pants.
Seriously. If these pants came with a 30" inseam, I don't think I'd have to get any other pant. Looking good in a pair of pants is hands down the most important factor. Closely followed by range of motion and durability. The gusset is awesome, absolutely no tug when working those high steps. Durability is yet to be determined, however they appear thicker and more reinforced than the "Bronson." I also enjoy the draw string at the cuffs, nice touch. Just needs that 30" inseam and it's a five star trouser.
Back when Prana made the silly decision to discontinue these awesome pants, I scoured the globe and bought eight pairs in random colors. Fast forward three and a half years and they are all getting worn, severely. Now my entire pant collection is ready for retirement. These are incredibly durable and impossible to describe how comfortable. Everything you sell now are too slim. I don’t want to walk around in girl’s pants. Too bad that’s all you sell now. How many costumers have to say “bring these back”, before you actually listen and bring these back? Anyways, these are fantastic pants. Comfortable, durable, stylish, everything about them is perfect. I really hope that someday you bring these back, without restyling or changing them. Just bring back the best pants ever made, please.
These pants are super durable, comfortable, and the best pants for climbing! I'm on my third pair of Continuums now in 6 years, all of them are still in great condition I just wanted to get more colors. Don't let the 32" inseam scare you either, I'm 5'7 and with the draw string on the ankles the pants fit just fine with little extra build up of clothe. I even have friends over 6' who fit the pants just fine too. I highly recommend these to anyone doing outdoorsy sports looking for durable pants!
This is my favorite pair of prAna pants for climbing. They feel more durable and heavy duty than the Stretch Zion but still breathe pretty well. Drawstring legs are a plus as well as the cinch belt. More pockets than I know what to do with. Love the contrast pockets too, adds a little flair. The Stretch Zion might be better for hotter days but I'm sweating already anyways so I'll probably just stick with these. Now just bring me some more colors in my size!
Another favorite! I bought these for my husband in two colors and he absolutely loves them! He wears a 34 and they fit him very nicely. The adjustable waist helps him to tailor the fit. The fabric is soft and comfortable, but sturdy and the construction of the pant is what one would expect from prAna. We've washed them a few times already and we've had no issues with the color bleeding or fading. These are my husband's new favorite pants!
Short Version: excellent pants for protecting your legs from sharp rock and similar hazards. I enjoy the material because it is thick enough to survive everything but the coldest winters and the warmest summers in the southwest. That might sound odd, but in the summer we climb more at night, and in the winter more during the day, so having something that handles in between temps can be a lifesaver. The style is great, the accessories are useful. My biggest beef with these is that I wish all models had more pocket detailing like the blue and jade colors, it is a detail a lot of people notice and compliment. If you are looking for something that you can be protected while bouldering and still ahve range of motion to get to the top of your proj and then be able to meet somebody nice at the bar after to share stories with, these would be the pants for you.
