Great shorts crippled by a cheap waistband
These shorts are great, but the waistband elastic on both these and the pants (which I also own) will always and forever be a disappointment. It needs to be thicker, and probably tighter for the garment size. I bought a Large, which is appropriate for my 35” waist, but the waist on these struggles big time if I have anything in my pockets, and the band is so flimsy it flips over and bunches so easily. Other than this major, but narrow, issue, the fabric and design are phenomenal. Really a shame about the waistband.
Waist is larger than usual and not snug enough
I bought this as a yoga shorts in size small which is my usual size. The elastic was not snug enough and I was sure it would not work if I do yoga in these shorts. I had to return the shorts. I previously had mojo II and I did not have the same issue.
might be too big for you
They are my favorite shorts I own, wether for workouts, hiking/backpacking or whatever. But be aware these mojo shorts must be different sizes from 2017 because these fit me completely different medium almost doesn’t fit me and I’m 6ft 172 pounds 32/32 which seems crazy. Just assume you might need to return them for a size smaller but they are top quality just not true size.
Terrible quality
I loved these shorts at first, but within about 2 months the elastic waste band had come unthreaded at the seems in a two inch strip in the front making them unusable and unable to return. Not happy with this purchase at all.
Solid
My husband bought these shorts for hiking/outdoor stuff. He's a pretty true M in shirts/jackets and shorts/pants. However these were a bit too big around his waist. They were also quite long -- a bit longer than they appear on the model photo. He ended up giving them to a friend who needed similar shorts. He would have kept them had they fit a bit truer to size.
Very comfy shorts
This is my second pair of prAna shorts from REI; these are my favorites. My first pair a couple of years ago were a medium; while they’re fine, they’re a big big for me (5’8”, 155, 34” waist measured - normally need to purchase 32” product - inflation, I guess). This time, I chose small - they’re great. Nice slim fit, comfy, really couldn’t ask for more.
Changed
Bought a couple of pairs of these in 2018 and they were great, went back for some more and the sizing had changed. Got a medium and it was too big?? I'm 6'0 180lbs
These run hilariously large
I've owned something like 10 pairs of Prana Mojo shorts over the past 10 years. I've stayed almost exactly the same size. But, first I wore size Large. In the Super Mojo 1, I was size medium and they were the best shorts ever. Now, I bought a small and the waist band is still too big! I normally wear 33" pants, so it seems crazy and a small could be too large. Otherwise, the shorts are rather nice, like the Mojo 1. But, the fit is crazy bananas.
Too big and too long!
I have a pair of the original version of these shorts and I love them. This II version is quite different. They are much larger in the same size as the other. I have both in Medium and the II's seem like large. They are also very long. They go past my knees. It is almost like they were mismarked for size. The material is more like tech material compared to the other. Not a fan.
Busted Seat
I blew the seat out on these shorts when squatting at the gym. The shorts fit my waist, however, are very tight around my mid thighs. I have worn these to the gym about 10 times, so its certainly premature. Maybe these are good for yoga, lounging or walking, but I cannot recommend them as a "all around active lifestyle short". I will not buy them again for the cost.
