This shirt is awesome. Wore it to India. Was totally comfortable. Didn’t stink. Didn’t sweat thru.

Great fit and feel, but poor stitching
I love the fit and feel of these shirts but the stitching, particularly around the collar seems to wear our quickly. The collars on past shirts I have bought split pretty quickly, and I noticed this one seems to be doing the same after only a few uses. Im certainly used to higher quality from Patagonia.

This T works.

Truth be known, I bought this T because I’ve been a customer of Patagonia for decades. But I’ve bought my share of Patagonia product from other merchants, mainly REI. This T was on sale at a nice discount. Because of the discount I bought this Capilene T where otherwise I may not have. Nothing to lose, I guess. Anyway, I’m a convert of the fabric. The T is very lightweight and breathes better than any natural fiber I’ve ever worn. Maybe it sounds corny, but this T is my go-to when I put on a t-shirt basically everyday (because I’m retired!). Recommend this T without equivocation.

The most durable!

These shirts are constructed from a highly durable material. In reality, you can get a shirt that breathes a little more, but it won't last. I've had many shirts get destroyed under a hydration vest from all of the leading Trail brands, the Capilene shirts are bulletproof. I've worn these shirts for races up to 100k and they're nice enough to wear out after a trip through the washer. My only complaint is the sizing, they're cut a little big, so I have medium and large in my arsenal. I typically go with medium under my vest and hike in the larges.

Great shirt for warm weather or humid activity.

Super comfortable for a day on the water or in the sun where comfort, sun protection, breathability, and quick drying are important. I got this for a trip to costa rica where we would be in and out of the water, active in humid weather, and I didn't want to keep changing my clothes when going into town. This fabric feels great, probably one of the best of all the lightweight breathable fabrics. It is so lightweight and breathable it never really felt wet or damp. It also protected me from the sun. I used it as a surf shirt. The only problem is that its not super flexible so I wish I had sized up one size. It fits me in the chest and shoulders but it is very short at the waist so it rides up a little bit.

Great in any condition

The shirt dries incredibly fast in the summer, breathable yet haven't had any rips or anything. In the winter I have worn it under layers to avoid having normal cotton shirts against my skin in sub-zero temperatures to great effect.

Comfortable shirt

Wore this shirt 2 weeks ago while backpacking in the North Cascades. Temps were unseasonably warm with highs in the low 80’s. Shirt was soaked with sweat both days. Very little stink after day one, but noticeable after two days. Shirt was comfortable and dried quickly. I’m 5’9” and weigh 165. The medium fits perfectly.

Cool

Unlike pants, shorts, socks and underwear, I have never had much luck with any shirts made with synthetic fabrics. No matter how lightweight or quick drying, they have always felt clammy/sticky in hot and/or humid weather. That's why for shirts I prefer, wool (lightweight) linen and cotton - yes cotton. When I was at my (all too familiar) REI a couple of weeks ago I saw these on the rack and out of curiously grabbed one in my hands and was impressed with the fabric's lightweight and silky feel. Bought it - with some hesitation. Gave it a quick wash, hung it to line dry and dried in no time. Tried it on, grabbed my day pack and gave it a go. Day was hot and humid. Very comfortable on my skin, fits nice and loosely - not baggie, not tight, had some stretch and when I started (and continued to sweat) this shirt was cool and breathable - unlike as mentioned, every single synthetic shirt I have ever worn. And it kept its shape and remained wrinkle free. I will be buying a couple more and using them for daily summer wear as well as hiking. Highly recommended.

Nice first layer

This is a great first layer, however like most of the new Patagonia line, it’s cut like a garbage sack, way too loose in the torso. I’ve worn it in 60*F weather under a cycling vest, and in cold weather as a first of 5 layers. It works well in both situations. I like the softness and slickness of the material, which helps it move under other layers.

One Tee to Rule Them All

I live in Alaska, and have super high standards for gear. This is my FAVE shirt. These do heavy duty in the summer, in winter as a baselayer, and for travel. I've worn the same ones in the Nevada desert, and as a baselayer for XC skiing - it's the perfect choice in either scenario. It's the first one I reach for, and will be the last I buy, because Patagonia truly stands behind their lifetime warranty. Buy once, cry once, and love it forever.
