Perfect for my 2020 Jeep Rubico

Bought for my 2020 Jeep Rubicon as the spare tire bumped into the Kuat rack. This hi-li was just the ticket. For my set up, I had to turn it over so the new “hitch” was closer to the ground. Now, I can open my tailgate and the spare tire clears everything.

No sway hitch extender.

The Kuat Hi-Lo hitch extension provided the clearance of the spare tire needed to use a Kuat Sherpa bike rack on a Jeep Wrangler. In the Lo position, with the rack tilted down the tail gait can be partially opened allowing limited access to the back of the vehicle. The threaded hitch pin keeps the bike rack steady while driving. Other extenders had been tried, but non kept the rack as still as this one.

Works

Turns out my Kuat bike rack sits too close to the exhaust on my 2015 Subaru Forester. The heat of the exhaust melted the strap on the bike rack so I needed the Hi-Lo to get the rack away from my exhaust. It does just that. As another review pointed out, the hi-lo doesn't come with a locking hitch pin for some reason, so it compromises the security of the entire bike rack. Luckily I had an extra locking hitch pin so not a big deal for me.

No secure locking

Can not use a secured locking pin . Have to use a proprietary screwing pin……easily removed

TOO hard to use

Had to return, impossible to put in your own lock to lock it to the vehicle One side is threaded to their own bolt, plus the lock is not included, and it has a funny end. Just buy something else
