This is a pro tool
I have cheap tools and this let's me know why. My cheap tools are difficult to read and the "snap" is so weak that sometimes I wondered if I reached the torque limit or whether it was my imagination. This tool is easy to read and set, and you won't mistake the "snap" when you've reached the torque limit. It is loud and significant. Pretty confident using this tool and makes you feel like a pro. Realized now that most of my bike components were not tight enough. Thought it would be nice to have more fittings, but anything larger than 5mm usually needs something higher than 6Nm to torque. This tool will get the most use for my needs.
Park Tool ATD-1.2 review:
I purchased this even though I already have an adjustable torque wrench that covers the range included in this tool. I have found that this tool fits the vast majority of torque requirements I encounter on my bicycle. When using the ATD-1.2 the definite click when I've reached the set torque value is unmistakable and very pleasing when compared to my other torque wrenches (including my automotive torque wrenches). Setting the desired torque value is simple and uncomplicated. If I must make a criticism about this tool, it's that the torque numbers could be more visible. They are stamped into the adjustment barrel, but do not have a high contrast relative to the barrel.
A warning to everyone: no magnet = your bit falls
Unfortunately, this tool didn't work out for me. The build felt good and the bits looked strong, but as soon as I switched out the bit, the magnet that holds the bit in place came out in pieces. I can't understand why Park Tool went with just a magnet to hold the bit, when the bits themselves have grooves. I would have reordered this but Park Tool doesn't have a lifetime warranty on their torque tools, so I can't have peace of mind knowing that this tool relies on a tiny fragile magnet in order for it to work properly.
Very Nice Tool
Now I know what it's like having a nice tool. This is expensive but a very high quality tool. There is a loud click once you've reached the torque value. I've had other torque wrenches that had a vague click. It is ergonomic and easy to use. The bit storage and torque value selector is very handy. I only wished it had more torque settings. If you have a carbon fiber bike and like to make adjustments, you should get this.
Nice and convenient
I do a fair amount of charity volunteering and recently used this on the Best Buddies ride in Carmel. A lot of what I do is assembling and setting up riders on the rental bike fleet. That means a lot of tightening of stems and seat binder bolts. Having the bits in the handle makes sure they don’t get lost and the easy and quick adjustability of the torque settings Means I can use one compact wrench.
Must have tool if you do any work on your own bike
Amazing bike tool, maybe a little bit expensive. I have a few torque wrenches, but for most things on a bike this is perfect. Simple to select a few preset torque settings. Bit storage in the handle. I use it more often than I thought I would.
Works well
Easy to set torques and easy to use. Comes with a few different bits. I like that it snaps when reaching a set torque kind of like ratcheting torque wrenches. I don't know what else to say, it just works and is pretty affordable.
Nice tool
Nice tool. Feels good in the hand. Peace of mind knowing the correct torque value is being applied.
Don't damage your carbon fiber bike frame
Absolutely necessary tool to prevent damage to hi tech carbon fiber bikes.
Peace of Mind
This tool covers a lot of bases. I just got a new bike and also got front and rear racks. This single tool gives me the ability to tighten all of the bolts to spec.
