Burton ruler is definitely the lightest boot in the same price class. Not like other brands, burton provide very light and compact but very warm breathable and comfortable material on this boot. You can heat molded not only liner also the shell, which will be shaped as your feet’s shape and provides you perfect comfort. Ruler also has a medium stiff (5) flexibility. Not stiff not soft just in the middle. However, since this boot is not the supreme class of Burton products, it does not provide a very cushion sole. And the sole is a little bit thin and humble. If you ride in powder or groomer with good snow, it will be fine and no difference with others. But if ride it on a hard ground, when you jump, it may not provide enough cushion. In conclusion, burton ruler is a very worthy all-mountain boot for intermediate boarders. But if you are a park snowboarder and you jump extremely high. Maybe it's better for you to pick up a more expensive one with enough cushion.

Great boots but my boots had a quality issue

Unfortunately, after about 6 uses, the side of one the boots started separating. First, I thought it was a minor defect, but the hole easily gets larger. In my opinion, Burton snowboard boots should last more than a few uses. I returned the boots to the store and waiting for my new pair of snowboard boots. I hope this is not a common problem because I really like these boots.

Great first pair of snowboard boots!

I bought these as my first pair of snowboard boots and am extremely happy with them. They are very lightweight, provide excellent heel hold, and are comfortable. I normally wear a size 10.5 in street shoes but fit the size 11 in the Burton Ruler. Don't go too small/tight or you'll have a bad time on the slopes. People talk about getting tight boots and letting them pack out but I'm more about getting boots that fit right from day one, especially if you're new to the sport. Maybe as you get more skilled you can try to get a tighter fit by sizing down but make sure your first few seasons are comfortable. These boots definitely do the job!

Men's size 10 US too small

Have been rocking 20 yo Burton Hail snowboard boots (men's size 10 US) and decided to give the Ruler BOA a try. Picked them up at my local REI yesterday, took them home and tried them on. While they seem like a solid boot and everything the size 10 I ordered are too small. Really uncomfortable getting them on. Ordered a 10.5 so I'll update this review once I get the replacements. Update: The 10.5 Men's US are a winner.

Great boots for budget

Need to replace my old Moto after a few seasons and decided on the Ruler. They are quite light, easy to put on, and close with the Boa system. The flex is indeed mid and feels just perfect for me. The boots deliver what is promised – perfect for advanced beginners and better casual riders, that for a good budget. They run true to size, so if you are in-between sizes, go with a half number larger. I have 26.6 Mondo and thought to take 26.5 (8.5) to have a snug fit, but my toes did hit hard in any position, even without socks. Now waiting for the 27.0 (9.0) which should fit perfectly.

amazing but.

These boots fit amazing but I have a high instep on my foot and my veins are being compressed and stopping circulation from blood flow, do you think i could just get them heat molded or is that not an option with instep

comfy and snug

Super comfy almost felt like sneakers. Love the ability to Velcro the inside layer for the extra snug fit. Feels great with both thin and thick socks. I’d say it’s fairly true to size as well. Double boa was nice because I could adjust easily and they always stayed tight. Only thing i wish it had was adaptability to fit into the new bindings that let you “clip” in the ski boots fit to their bindings.
