Best backpacking cook pot I've found

I backpack a lot and obviously don't like carrying any more weight than I need to. I dislike the design of the jetboil (too narrow/deep), but also didn't want anything too flat or wide, which would take a long time to heat under the flame of my MSR pocketrocket. Finally, I wanted to be sure that I could boil 2 cups of water and still have room in the pot to add the dried food, let it expand, etc. This 900ml is absolutely perfect. For titanium, it's also very affordable. I used it on a 23-day trip on the John Muir Trail and it worked exactly how I had hoped. Highly recommend!

Perfect minimalist cook pot

Can't beat the weight. I like the 900mL size pot because I can boil enough water at once for my meal and a hot drink, and it's large enough to simmer cook a meal as well. Handles get hot so use gloves or cloth that will not melt on the hot handles. Lid easily falls off and handles get very hot otherwise I'd 5 star it.

Lightweight kit without a fuss

Great to nest the Toaks 500ml companion into. In the 500 ml, a small 100 ml gas cannister fits neatly on the bottom over a spare small bic lighter. Two hot lips squeezed neatly in between the cannister and the pot wall keeps it well in place. Over the canister, I have a Soto Windmaster, making it a compact quality cooking set. (I guess you can do a similar thing with the MSR pocket Rocket DLX) The 900 ml lid cannot be closed over the whole set, but the mesh pouch does fit neatly around the whole shabang. The lids can simply go in first, under each pot. Instant coffee, tea, freeze-dried food bags, a titanium spoon and all is set!

Light, works well

Took pot on a 5 day solo hiking trip. It was light and worked well. Used the pot with an MSR pocket rocket and tried out my new BRS 3000T stove and both worked well with the pot. The size was big enough in the morning to boil water for oatmeal and coffee. Pot was easy to clean. The volume markings on the side took a little getting used to but were sufficient. I had a 1.9 litre MSR Halulite pot that weighed 8 ounces, this was an inexpensive way to save 4 ounces off my pack weight. The pot was large enough to hold a lighter, a small 1 ounce bottle of Bronner's soap, a small packtowel, a small BRS 3000T canister stove and my new snow peak 450 ml cup. I know some people cook out of a cup only to save weight, but I like hot coffee and oatmeal in the morning without having to wash and boil 2 cups full of water.

Awesome Pot

I went with this pot over the 750ml for several reasons. 1) It’s easier to cook in, clean, & eat out of due to the wider diameter and shorter height. 2) The long handles stay a little cooler and are easier to grab and pour with. 3) It holds a 1/4 gallon Ziplock Freezer bag with a reconstituting dehydrated meal perfectly. 4) Still large enough to hold stove, lighter, etc. The extra 0.8 ounce from the 750ml is completely worth it for the increased function and benefits. Buy this pot! You won’t be disappointed.

Toaks forever!

Super durable and lightweight. I have cooked hundreds of times with this thing on everything from a MSR pocket rocket to sticking it directly in a campfire. The metal is strong and has never dented or scratched. I met Toaks at trail days in 2016, they were extremely pleasant humans and i've purchased a good amount of their products since then. This particular one the 900mL is a great size, enough for a meal for one person, potentially two depending on what you are making or sharing.

Lightweight, Handles Don't Burn Your Hands!

Excellent little pot! It is very lightweight and easily holds fuel or other things for more compact storage. I expected to need to use a sock or a stick or something to take the lid off or to hold it by the handle, but the little top on the lid and the handle don't seem to get hot at all! So you can just pick up the stove once your water is done boiling and easily dump it into your dehydrated food. It also holds enough water for two or three traditional dehydrated meals which is great if you're camping with extra people. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a lightweight pot.

Just the right size for backpacking

This pot is just the right size for a single backpacker. Large enough for a good size meal. And large enough not to boil over when I add ramen, coffee or a dehydrated meal to the pot.

Lightweight, Durable, and Affordable

The Toaks 900mL Titanium pot is really a useful pot to have while backpacking. It is lightweight, durable, and affordable. I really like the built-in handle and the 900mL volume. As a big guy, I have a heart appetite. The extra volume allows me to stir food without having to worry about it spilling over the sides. Also, even with the added volume, the increase in weight is minimal.

Glad I bought it

Did I need this pot? No. Am I glad I bought it anyway? Yes. As my hiking evolves into longer distances, lighter base weights, and the logistics that come with each I needed go revisit cook systems. I initially had some of the ultralight versions of TOAKS pots. The 600 and 500 ml versions of I remember correctly. They’re GREAT for boiling water to rehydrate freeze dried meals. Said meals are great for occasional use, but get prohibitively expensive for long trips, and aren’t THAT calorically dense. When calories matter, resupplies are infrequent, and every cubic centimeter or the bear canister needs to be utilized there’s one option….trail cooking. This pot gives enough size to allow you to cook in it without worrying too much about the water/food boiling over, and playing a balancing act with a to-the-brim pot of boiling water as it’s getting dark amongst root-heavy ground. It’s nice not having to closely. Pot is also wide enough to heat quickly and make efficient use of fuel, though I probably should’ve went for the 130mm version. Weight isn’t bad at 4oz with the lid. Ditch the stuff sack and use rubber bands. The pot will nest a 4oz fuel canister with copious room to spare. An 8oz fits perfect and you can still place a smaller stove inside with it (BRS titanium stove). The handles get hotter than expected during use. They’re right at that “too hot to hold” point despite being long enough I figured they’d air cool. Worth the money if you’re in need of a pot that allows versatility on the trail at an acceptable weight.
