I purchased the Toaks 750 without handles, it is an excellent pot. It is just the right size for a solo backpacker being large enough to cook soups for a meal but also not too large to be bulky. The material is Titanium which is insanely lightweight and durable but does not retain any heat- so yes, as other reviewers have noted, food will almost instantly burn if cooked improperly (heat too high or not stirred enough). That’s not the mugs fault, it is simply a property that titanium has. I have used this pot to dry bake biscuits and cakes, cook soups, and of course boil water, and it has proven to be an extremely reliable, affordable pot. It is absolutely a must have if you are trying to reduce the weight of your pack.
Perfectly fits a 110g Fuel Canister, MSR PocketRocket Deluxe, and a mini BIC Lighter. Compact and lightweight. The total weight is 15.1oz or 427grams with a full fuel canister, stove, mini lighter, and the Toaks pot/lid/mesh bag. 14.4oz if you ditch the mini lighter.
I bought this pot to bring back country hunting for 12 days and it could not of been more perfect! I debated sizes for a while but ultimately settled on the 750 because inside of it I could fit my jet boil fuel canister stabilizer, a 4 ounce fuel can, my MSR pocket rocket 2, and a lighter. Everything I needed for cooking kept in one little kit! It was also the perfect size to fit all the freeze dried meals (alpine air and mountain house being the two main brands used). Cleans up easy and as long as you remember to fold out the handles and the little triangle piece on the lid it’s easy to handle even when it’s hot. Highly recommend!
Nice small base container to boil water for dinner and/or use as a large coffee cup. Perfectly houses a smaller ISO stove canister, a jetboil stove base, and the snow peak lite max stove plus a small lighter. This is my smaller/ slightly more lightweight setup compared to the tried and true jetboil. Very happy so far.
I use this daily, multiple times a day. I cook on it with my pocket rocket and Ive cooked in the fire with it. I often set it in the fire with the lid on to heat up water for tea. All of my friends and coworkers get jealous when they see that my handle has a bend for my finger to hold the handle if you dont know what Im talking about look at all titanium cups and observe the handle difference. The test of test is you just need to hold it in your hand. I bought this size specifically because it can nest a small gas canister with my pocket rocked and a few backs of tea. Also you can nest a nalgene in it so when its in my pack its in the water bottle pocket with a nalgene.
Let be honest, this is one of the best solo backpacking pots on the market. Its light, well made, heats water well and fits on backpacking stoves. Save your self some trouble researching and just get it. And if does't work for you, return it using REIs best return policy.
This was the perfect setup for my situation where I had to keep things simple and very light. This met all my needs and I had no issues whatsoever.
great little pot. It works really well for me on my solo trips.
As the title of this review says its the perfect pot when going minimal on a backpacking trip its big enough to boil water for a dehydrated meal and coffee. You can fit a small gas canister a pocket rocket and a mini bic wrapped in a bandana. im sure other stoves would fit however can only speak for the stove i own. You can cook some ramen in a cup this size so if you also want to cook a meal in the pot it is doable. perfect for one person. In the mornings is boil water for coffee and oatmeal. i add the water directly to the oatmeal bag with peanut butter so no clean up the the remaining water i add my coffee to i use instant but if you want you could do cowboy coffee or use a bandana for it. overall its a nice piece kit could find other brands on amazon if you want to save a few bucks since they're all pretty much made in the same factory and just a different name is put on the outside. cant go wrong with this purchase. own this cup and a snowpeak 700 ti mug with bail handle and if you want to save money this cup does just as good of a job and not as expensive.
This is just the pot I needed for travels. Performs well and is priced reasonably.
