Amazing backpacking towel
I have used several backpacking towels over the years and they have all suffered in 3 ways that Matador managed to fix. They are either too small, too heavy and bulky, or not effective at drying and some fit into all 3 categories. Matador solved all these problems with the NanoDry Towel. The first thing I noticed with these towels was just how light they were. When you take them out of their case you will be surprised at how nice it would be to take them backpacking. At the same time when you open them up, they are almost as large as a standard shower towel and can fit around your entire body. They do a wonderful job of drying off your body and then you can wring out almost all the water to use it again and dry off another part of your body. This combination of super thin, light, and large along with excellent drying ability would lead me to highly recommend them. Overall, these towels are incredibly affordable for how well they work and how can be vital for any camping trip or travel situation where water will be involved but space is a concern.

Lightweight, but the rust/red color bleeds badly.
I had to run the rust/red through 24 wash cycles before it stopped noticeably bleeding. Almost certainly not worth the cost and time to do so. I now have multiple pink test rags for cleaning so that's...nice? Holds about 2.5x its own weight in liquid fully saturated and about 1.5x without visibly dripping. The carrying case is bulky. Defeats the purpose of an ultralight towel. Can be ditched to compensate, but would be nice for a cheaper option without the case.

Fast drying, quick absorbing, super lightweight

I have other travel towels, but nothing this size that is this light, this packable, and this quick drying. It's a total keeper. Well, I actually forgot it at a different campground a few days later, but it's something I am happy to pay to replace. I would wake up, have a shower, lay out the towel on the picnic table, and 10 min later it was dry. Speaking of really cool, let me take a sec to talk about the carry case. It's this silicone thing that comes with a carabiner, so I can hook it outside my bag if it's still wet to keep it away from other stuff but also let it air dry a bit. Overall Positives Towel has a loop near the middle to hang in shower stalls or hang dry Very absorbent fabric. 2.3x it's own weight in water, to be exact. I didn't think the large size (47 x 24 inches, 142 grams) was going to be enough material to dry me after a soak, but it was. NanoDry fabric dries soooo fast. Antimicrobial coating so there's no mildew build up Silicone case clips to anything and keeps it away from your other items in case it's not quite dry Overall Negatives I forgot it at a campground a few days later

Great towel-Dries me-and Dries Quickly

Bought this towel for bike/hiking camping. I go light. Then my gym decided not to give out towels. I use the Nanodry after swim and shower and it dries me and when I get home it seems to dry quickly-within an hour or two depending on temp in home. Have no idea how long the towel will last. Have not washed it in machine. Have rinsed it in sink. It is expensive. I bought it at REI sale so got discount of 20%. I suggest going to the Matador NanoDry website and reading. The towel so far is excellent. It is expensive but if it works for a year and I go to the gym often then it will be worth it.

worked just like we thought

We used these for the first time since getting them, and they were great. We read a lot about them, so we knew how to beat dry off with them. I have very long hair, so once I dried my body (first by patting the water off, then doing a little rub) I took the towel and kinda tied it to my hair to help it dry. This worked great for me! Also, we dried them in direct sunlight and they were dry in under an hour! We plan to get each of our 4 kids one, but we are going to have them practice using them before we go, since it is a bit different then drying off with a big “normal” towel.

Effective and compact.

I bought the towel for a trip to South America. It works like magic drying you off. Though, because of the size you must be strategic with where you dry. It gets saturated very quickly. Overall I would recommend it for someone doing ultralight travels or likes to have a small towel for emergencies. If weight and size isn’t a concern I would probably recommend a larger option. ***NOTE: The towel takes much longer to dry in its silicone container.***

Small but mighty!

I’ve used a couple different camping towels and this one is by far the best I’ve tried so far. It dries a person off better (absorbs more water quickly) than all the others and also dries itself out pretty quick. I used this for a 3 week camping adventure and never at any point did it smell like it NEEDED to be laundered. My only semi-complaint is that it is too small to cover a person up completely but that wasn’t a requirement for my use. Bottom line, I love this towel, would buy it again, and will recommend to others.

Color bleeds in the wash

I’m not a person that usually writes reviews, but this is an exception. I purchased the rust color. I didn’t think washing the towel with other items was a problem because the towel is made of synthetic materials, and the color was part of the thread—I was wrong. The towel bled in the wash after the first time I used it, turning all my white items pink. I washed it again after using it a second time, this time with rags to be safe. Even then, the towel bled. The towel performs fine for what it is, but I don’t recommend washing it with any other item, unless the item is the same color.

Definitely purchased two

I tried both out and they are incredible. After a nice long soak at the gym I just scrape any water off of my body with my hands and wring my hair out (I have slot of thick hair). Then reach for the towel for the people who complain about it getting soak fast... I don’t have that problem at all. Matter of fact I can’t wrong water out of the towel after I’m completely dry. So just scrape off excess water with hands and wring hair...then grab the towel and pay dry your body then move to you hair. Do the hair last! Trust me this towel is so compact and does it’s job with excellence I would buy more but they are pricey. I love these the blankets the soap case. It’s excellent gear and worth it! Fold back into the case easily and it doesn’t smell after using it.

Fantastic product

I love this towel for camping and traveling. It's unbelievably lightweight and packable. It dries quickly and is surprisingly absorbent for its size and weight. Don't expect something fluffy or luxurious like a towel at home - it had a thin and clingy feel, but picks up water like a champ.
