Excellent boot. Very comfortable. Sizes run a little narrow so take that into account if you're going to wear heavy and/or two pairs of socks.
Purchased to walk my dogs in winter, and they're amazing. Light weight and as warm as our wood stove! Even went ice fishing and stood on icy lake for 5 hours and have never been in winter shoes this comfortable. WTG Vasque ! Also, I like to mention that I had a product inquiry, and contacted Vasque directly. They're outstanding, and have won me over with their exceptional customer service.
I've had these for about two weeks now and while they're pretty comfortable and look great, I had my first chance to wear them out in some rain yesterday and they soaked right through. I really wanted to love these boots, but getting home with cold wet feet last night really makes it impossible.
This boot is magic. Feels like a sturdy light hiker... but is warm enough for all day use in winter. I wouldn't think twice about taking these out for a long work day, or into the mountains. Totally trust construction and build. Very impressed.
Took them to mount charleston in Nevada when it was covered in snow and had no issues. Feet stayed warm and dry with some snap-on socks and the fit was right on. No pain or blistered going up or down the mountain.
I was looking for a winter day hiking boot that could withstand the icy summits of the peaks in the northeast while also providing the comfort necessary to facilitate long-distance backcountry travel. The Coldsparks satisfy both needs. Weighing less than most summer backpacking boots, the Thinsulate design maximizes on warmth and breath-ability without sacrificing any stability. I've gone on multiple 10+ hour day hikes this winter, and have managed to keep my toes warm on every trip (no toe warmers necessary). Huge bonus - I've never even developed a semblance of a blister while wearing these boots all winter. Fits true to size, and the toe box is great for my slightly wider foot. Only gripe - The plastic hooks to secure the laces higher up on the tongue of the boot aren't deep enough to securely hold the laces while tying the boots. They fine once you've tightened them. Overall - I will be wearing these boots for multiple winter seasons to come. After 3 months of intense winter recreation (20+ trips into the backcountry), these boots show no wear and tear. Great boots for the shoulder seasons and the colder seasons. Highly recommend.
