Good looking jacket and well performed!

I used this jacket for my trip to Lake Tahoe,CA on mid-November and I gotta say I'm very impressed with the performance of this jacket. Not only it looks nice with its light weight construction so that you don't look chubby, it was pretty warm under weather of 40F degree with some appropriate base layers. In conclusion, I'm very happy with my Thermoball jacket and I will not hesitate to recommend this to everyone.

Love this jacket!!

I bought this jacket because I had heard great things about it and how warm it is. Living in Chicago, this is a must have for 7-8 months out of the year. While I have another jacket for when it's in the single digits or below, this is a great coat and really does keep me warm. One of the other great benefits of this is due to how light it is, you can fold it up into the pocket and store in your luggage very easily without taking up much room. I bought an XL and I'm 6' tall, 225 lbs with an athletic build to give you and idea of what fit me best. I highly recommend this jacket!

Thermoball surprise

I was skeptical about this jacket when I bought it. I still have not fully put it to the test but I took it out today in a pretty good east wind. Anyone from Portland will know what I'm talking about. It was cold and the wind chill was down there. All I had on underneath was a t-shirt. I was totally blown away at how warm I stayed. This jacket is pretty surprising. I have some more testing to do, have to try it in the rain then see how cold I get or maybe not. The only down side so far is I wished it had some kind of stash pocket maybe on the inside for glasses or the phone. If your thinking about this jacket, I would say try it out.

The Best Just Got Better

Excellent jacket. Lightweight, very warm, feels just as soft as down, and extremely easy to take care of. The internal elastic wrist bands new to this year's model are an excellent improvement as the sleeves no longer bunch up at the wrists. Don't let the lightness deceive you because this bad boy can really keep you warm! I can wear this over just a light base layer in 20 F degree weather with mildly windy conditions and be just fine. I think of this as a much upgraded Redpoint. In fact, I don't even wear my Nuptse 2 anymore as Thermoball does just about everything Nuptse 2 does without the bulk or fear of water. Highly recommend.

So far, so good

I've had my Thermoball for a little over a month and I'm finally enjoying its benefits now that the temperatures in the northeast have started to drop. The jacket is super lightweight and I've used it in most conditions so far (rain, wind, cold) for walking, hiking and running. I'm impressed with how warm it has kept me on some of my colder hikes and runs. I'm interested to test the optimal temperature range for staying comfortable in this jacket during active use. So far, it's been great between 20 - 50 degrees. I'm wondering how low I can go while still staying warm. I need a polar vortex to hit New England. TNFLocals #AMBSDR

Light and Warm

I love this jacket. It's light enough and packs down small enough to throw it in the bottom of your pack for alpine missions without noticing the weight or bulk, and yet It's warm enough to save your butt when things go wrong. The Thermoball also stays warm even when wet--a clear advantage over traditional down puffys. I highly recommend this jacket! Full disclosure: As a #TNFLocals and The North Face #AMBSDR, I received this jacket as a perk. But, I would buy this jacket if it wasn't given to me for free.

Like I'm still in bed

This jacket makes me feel like I'm still in bed. It is very surprisingly light and the thermoballs seem to be sparse at first glance but somehow this jacket is able to retain a lot of heat. Yet at the same time, it is very breathable and you don't get too hot. I use this for early morning dawn patrol and when you're on the sand checking the break, you don't even notice that it's 40 F outside. When the session is done, there's no better feeling than secure in this jacket warming back up. Jacket runs true to size and the materials and build are top notch. A bit on the pricier side for me, but I have no regrets... totally worth it. Would definitely recommend to others.

Essential piece of gear, one exception

I own several NorthFace products because I think they make some wonderful items. The thermoball jacket is one of my go to pieces in most conditions. I use it for hiking, snowboarding and just casual wear in the cool to cold Tahoe nights. It's the most versatile of the jackets I own. I love it because it packs down small and stows in its own pocket. The warmth I get from it is unparalleled. My only complaint about this jacket is the stitching. Several of the stitches on the quilted pattern have come apart. As in, the thread is gone and the seems are just open. And this wasn't caused from any sort of falling or scuffing. I find this to be somewhat acceptable in a jacket.

The Perfect Three-Season Jacket!

This jacket is outstanding. The best part is that living in a Southern Midwest state (Kentucky), the temperature changes so much from morning to afternoon. Therefore, the key is layering. With jackets lightweight technology and feel I can start with this warm jacket in the morning and shed layers as the day goes on. In addition, I have found the jacket breathes really well, not allowing me to get overheated but staying very warm in all cold temperatures, whether I am in Kentucky or the Northern Great Lakes region where I am from. Would highly recommend this jacket for three-season-usage and its comfortability.
