Happy with this Jacket
This jacket is stylish and warm. With the hood attached it looks stylish, without it attached it looks sporty for skiing. I do not like skiing with a hood so I am happy it is detachable, the fur is also detachable. With the jacket fully zipped it is very comfortable, and doesn't chafe your chin as some other jackets can. There is an interior chest pocket as well as a left arm pocket for an RFID pass. I am 5'3" and 115lbs - I tried on a 4 regular and a 6 regular. I ultimately went with the 6 as the 4 was a little tight in the shoulders (I have broad shoulders). I also prefer my jackets on the roomier side.

It is NOT WATERPROOF
I am so heartbroken to write this review because I LOVED this coat... that was until I wore it skiing in the best powder of my life and froze to the core. Turns out this coat is so far from waterproof it's a joke. As I sat next to the lodge fire trying to dry my ENTIRE BODY from the wet that seeped through my "waterproof" jacket all I could do was laugh. My cute new ski coat was now soaked to the core in snow, and I almost had to cut the best ski day of my entire life short because I was too cold (thank goodness I did not). If all you want is a coat that looks cute and keeps you warm, this is a great option. But if you want to do anything outside where there is snow involved, including walk from the door to your car or ski the best pow of your life, STEER CLEAR. This coat is not for you. I've attached a photo I took after this ski day as proof of how absorbent this coat is -absorbent is not a quality you want in a ski coat, I can assure you of that.

Amazing ski coat!

I am a busty plus size and gave this a shot. I love it. I bought a 2X because the size chart showed me between a 1x and 2x (am an 18W typically). The 2x feels a little too big, but with plenty of room for layers. I am considering trying a 1x to see if I like how it looks better. Just here to tell the plus size ladies that this coat looks great. So nice to have awesome style clothing. I have been skiing since I was a kid and it is nice to have stylish ski options. I am 5'8 and the sleeve length is perfect. The only thing that could make this better is thumbholes. But the inner sleeve is long enough to tuck into a glove, so really, no issue.

Versatile

Gift for my teenage daughter who grew out of her 'kids' ski jacket. She saw it on the mannequin at REI and immediately fell in love with the style. Not just for skiing, but it will also double as a winter jacket at school. I liked it because I trust Obermeyer, it has a soft fabric feel, all the bells and whistles that a good ski jacket has (internal snow skirt, pit zips, lotsa' pockets, not too bulky, etc). And- reasonably priced. Since we got the gray color which is pretty sedate, we paired it with some flashy Obermeyer ski pants so her ski outfit wasn't too boring. Seems to be a popular style this year, as I saw two other women skiing in the same jacket on the mountain this week.

Multipurpose Jacket for Snow or Town

I absolutely love this jacket! I bought it for a ski trip to Colorado where temperatures were near 0, windy, snowy, and it kept me warm (wore base layer and mid layer wool tops) while skiing. The hood is adjustable so I could put it on over my helmet, and the readjust when I wasn't wearing the helmet. Jacket is comfortable and moves well when I move- I'm quite active so I don't want something that restricts my movement. It's not just for skiing though- I love to wear it when out and about on the town in Winter, temps anywhere from 15-45 degrees out. Also great that it's easy to wash- detach the hood and toss the jacket in the wash on gentle. Highly recommend.

Stylish and warm!

I needed a new go-to hip-length puffery coat that could also double as a ski jacket. I put this one at REI and didn't want to take it off! I'm 5'4 and 120, and the size 4 fit nicely all around with some room to spare for a thin sweatshirt. But you may not ever need an extra layer because it is SO warm and cozy. The hood is a cute touch to dress it up a bit, and I love the fleece collar. Add the 30% discount from REI and I am loving this purchase.

Stylish and technical!

I bought this in black for a two-week Wilderness First Responder class in Rocky Mountain National Park in December—I needed something that would be seriously warm in some seriously cold weather, and that wouldn’t get ruined by a lot of time in the woods, snow, and dirt. It kept me warm there, as well as in Montréal in negative 15-degree weather. I also wear it as a winter coat in NYC and have gotten loads of complements. It looks and wears like a Canada Goose for a fraction of the price. Runs a bit small—I went up a size from the largest I generally would wear in a coat.

Beautiful warm jacket

My hubby bought me this jacket for my bday in black. I absolutely love it. I’m 5’4 and weigh 128lbs. I usually wear a 4 but this is a size 6 and fits like a glove. Its slimming and is so comfortable. I’m thinking about getting one in white also.

And I don't Ski!

I saw this jacket in REI in West Hartford CT in a size 12, tried it on quickly and bought it full price because the styling is awesome! I bought the black one with the lovely fake fox trimmed hood. It is so warm and fits like a glove. So that was the problem-I usually wear a size Misses 12, but this is fitted and cannot accommodate a sweater. So I returned it to the store and tried to mail order a size 14 but it was unavailable immediately from REI. I ended up purchasing it online from another retailer. You can wear a T-shirt and put this jacket on in winter--and BE WARM! Even in this size, the lines on the jacket are slimming. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this jacket. I haven't worn this in a snow storm yet, but I am looking forward to the storm this Sunday to test it out!

Not Bulky - Has Great Features

I bought this to walk my dog, not to ski so am slightly concerned this may not be warm enough when I start out of the house or if it's extremely cold (only tried in mid-30's so far). Once you get going, it's great. I believe it's for someone who will be active outside. If you are going to an outdoor event and just watching/standing around, this may not be warm enough for you. If you're going to be active, you'll be fine. It fits nicely and is not bulky at all. I love the extra features. There is an inner band around the hips to block the wind. This is awesome. There is also a "sleeve" that blocks the wind from going up your arms. There's a small pocket on the right arm good for bags and my chapstick. (only one inner pocket though) The hood is adjustable and does an excellent job of blocking the wind and keeping you warm without getting in your face and lastly, the part around the neck is lined with a soft fleece-like fabric that is much nicer than what you find in other coats. I have other coats that have the material that's on the outside of the coat in the lining and it's too rough on your neck and face and attracts even the slightest bit of make up and is hard to clean. This material is much better and easier to clean. Overall extremely happy with the purchase. You get what you pay for.
