Legit
I work in a not great neighborhood. This is long enough to go through the wheel and frame. Thick links. Easy to use. Highly recommend. Yes, it’s heavy.
Can lock RadRunner front tire and frame to post
I would give it 5 stars if one of the “rubber” protective ends stayed on better and if unlocking end didn’t close so easily (which seems to close on me before I can insert the other end of the chain because it is so loose). For me, the convenience of not needing a key and quick lock/unlock are a must. This lock has a combo, but its weight slows makes locking and unlocking much slower than a u-lock. However, this is probably the strongest/thickest combo lock that can fit a larger bicycle’s (especially e-bikes with fat tires and frames) front tire, frame, and post with one lock. A combo u-lock is too small to do this. I wrap the lock around my seat post when riding, were it rattles only occasionally. It’s the best way I’ve found to attach the lock to the bicycle for transport. I also keep a Kryptonite double-looped braided cable to lock the rear wheel when needed (the loop fits the chain lock). If u-locks aren’t an option, this is the next-best thing. It’s also stronger than most folding locks.
Combination failed. Buy a lock with a key.
I had the lock less than one day and so did not even have a chance to register the combination. The combination stuck and would not open so I had to have it cut off.
You ain't getting my bike
Combination is all I'll use, I like chain, this combines both. By far the best lock I've ever owned.
Nice lock
This thing is beefy. It’s 35” from end to end but because of how it latches it isn’t really 35” when installed. Once open I would lube the slide a little or it can be hard to open. I thought I had messed up setting it when we couldn’t get it reopened but finally got a good grip and pulled hard.
Heavy and hard to manage
Beefy lock - weighs a ton. I’m finding it too short for my needs and hard to manage due to weight. But it makes me feel secure. I’ll be finding a lighter and longer lock for less risky lockups, and saving this for occasions where I feel extra security is required.
Combo not reliable
Twice we have had trouble with the combination opening up the lock. We have the correct combination and finally it opens. But once it took 10 minutes and the last time it took over two hours with 5 different people trying it.
Do not buy
The locking mechanism jammed and broke after less than three years. I needed to call a locksmith to come and cut the entire lock off off. On the flipside, it was an incredibly involved process for him to cut it off my bike, which is a testament to the strength of the chain.
