Makes SPD Cleat non-adjustable
PLEASE READ THIS - if you're converting a 3-hole shoe to use SPD cleats, then this will work for you ONLY if you do NOT want to adjust your SPD cleat position, as it is completely non-adjustable using this adapter. It works fine and holds the cleat securely, but only in one fixed position. There are other adapters available on the market if you want or need to adjust your SPD cleats position at all.

Great for using LOOK-compatible shoes with SPD

I use these with a Peloton. We changed out the pedals to ones with SPD on one side and toe cages on the other. I put these cleats on my Fizik 3 hole shoes and they work very well.

Not Adjustable

The previous version of this adapter (SH40) had fore and aft adjustability. This version does not.. Perhaps fine for casual use, but not good for more serious training or if you have knee issues, etc.

Convert your 3 hole road shoes to 2 hole shoes

I first bought these cleat adaptors because I added a 2nd bike for gravel riding and didn’t want to buy a new set of shoes. Instead I set up one pair of shoes with 2 hole SPD cleats using these adaptors while my other shoes had the 3 hole SPD-SL cleats. Well I liked the 2 cleat system so much that I’ve standardized to SPD pedals for all my bikes. And instead I’ve used these adaptors to convert any 3 hole shoe to 2 hole. These adaptors work well and are a great option of if you find a set of shoes that fit well, but need 2 hole instead of 3 hole. And the overall thickness added to the bottom of the shoe is not much more than the typical depth of the rubber sole for most 2 hole shoes. I would easily buy these again and I am very happy with how they perform. Just make sure to use a good torque wrench and some lube on the threads when installing so you know they are tightened properly (5-6Nm for cleat bolts.)

I would not use this again

I would not use this again. It is fiddly as the spi cleat attachment is slotted. It tends to loosen and really needs adjustment after 2-5 uses. That works well enough for a short recreational session. If I rode any distance and had to stop frequently. I'd need to interrupt my ride to adjust and tighten the cleat again.

Easy to use

These adapters are very easy to install and do the job well switching a 3 hole shoe to two holes for the SPD cleats-- they allowed me to convert my old road shoes for my son to use. They've held up well over several hard rides for him.
