Good protection from the elements

The XL was too tight, I considered sewing in an elastic dart (or adjustment) to make it more comfortable. Hood sits a little low, it would be nice if the bill flipped up to allow better peripheral vision. The "plastic" outer material makes a crinkling noise in my ears with the slightest movement. The snaps are cumbersome, I have to remove my gloves and struggle to attach the strap even with both hands. I will probably add Velcro. I hunted high and low for a replacement for my 30 year old "Orca" hat (made in USA & Large fits well), see attached picture, this was the closest equivalent I could find. Also it was really too expensive for a cheap Chinese knockoff.

A hat that handles all winter weather...even COVID!

I love this hat. I wear a 7 3/4 hat size normally so XLs don't always mean it will fit. This one does and even with a little room to spare so that it's not squeezing my melon. I had the hat in the middle of blizzard last weekend during search and rescue training ops and it did great. My head, ears, and face were all perfectly fine. The bill is great because it helps serve as a headlamp ledge in addition to offering shade for the eyes during daylight ops. Lastly, if you go somewhere and you don't have a mask, the face-covering wrap that comes out of the ear panel has worked every time for walking into an establishment that has a mask requirement. Well done and thank you OR for another great product!

Perfect hat for cold weather work outside (like snowblowing)

Bought this without being sure how I would like it, and had considered it as a gift for a friend with a VERY large head. On arrival found the extra large was not as "extra" as it was just "large". Size wise I found it comparable to a Large bike or ski helmet. Not big enough for the friend, but good for me. Hat itself is warm, well designed, I like the face mask. Throw on a pair of goggles and this is the ultimate snowblowing hat - your face is fully protected from wind (or machine) blown snow. Despite light weight is surprisingly warm, comfortable (even warm) at -12 celcius. Some may find the look is polarizing, but even my wife thinks that, for this style of hat, it looks pretty good.

Perfect winter hat

This has everything I was looking for in a hat for winter walks. The brim is wide enough to keep the sun out of my eyes, it keeps my head, ears, and neck warm, and the face covering even keeps my nose warm without fogging up my glasses. That was an added bonus that I wasn’t even looking for in a hat! The only downside is that the face covering is rather loose, so if it’s windy, it’s not as warm as it would be if it were snugger fitting.

Exactly as advertised

It's exactly what I expected based on the description and previous reviews. I ordered a size up so it would fit over my ponytail when I don't want to redo my hairstyle just to wear a warm hat. That means when my hair is down, the hat is loose, as expected. I wear a thin hat under it for extra cold days. If I had ordered the proper size I bet it would fit more snugly to my face and be fine without the extra hat, but I can't say for sure. It's as cute as I expected, which is to say, it's not cute. It's very practical and great for sunny days in lieu of the ball cap I'd wear in warm weather.

Best hat I have ever had

This is my new favorite hat! I work outside in the rain, wind and cold. This thing keeps my head and facewarm and dry. It looks super cool and is great for any weather other than warm weather. The face mask is not too thick so you do not got too hot. I can wear it for several hours and not get uncomfortable.

Just what I've been looking for!

Exactly what I was looking for, a baseball style cap that would keep my head warm on cold days and my ears warm when it got colder. I recently had a chance to give it a good test while snowshoeing on a cold, blustery day and it passed with flying colors. I started with it in full storm mode with the earflaps down and buttoned up tight. As I heated up I first unbuttoned the flaps, then put the flaps partially up and finally had them buttoned on top of the hat. It was nice to be able to stay comfortable without having to change hats. Great hat, I highly recommend it.

Love this hat!

I spend a good deal of time winter steelhead fishing. Although a beanie is nice for some days, I bought this hat for those particular nasty days when it is raining and I need to keep the hood of my rain jacket from falling over my face. I have abandoned the beanie for this hat on most days now. I tried several other similar hats and this one provided the best overall fit. It is very comfortable for spending time on the river amidst the winter steelhead run and the inclement weather that comes with it!
