one year later I still love it!

Bought this at the beginning of last Fall. I wanted a long, warm coat that wasn’t too pufffy or sporty looking. I wanted versatility to wear it with nicer outfits for traveling, etc. Took this coat to Ireland in January and it was perfection. The synthetic insulation is great at wind blocking (which was intense over there!) and so toasty warm! The cut of this coat is slim, especially the arms, so I ordered up a size. This is so warm I don’t need to wear several layers underneath. You can’t beat the price for a Patagonia coat. The only disappointment is the material seems less slightly sturdy. I wear a cross body purse and it has begun to show a slight fray spot on an exterior seam. Otherwise it’s in perfect condition after it’s first season of use. I’d still buy it again!

It's a warm coat. I will say that. I bought it after trying it on and LOVING the fleece lining in the wrist. But after a month of zippers snagging more and more (on the front, on the pockets) till I had to climb out of it sometimes, I gave up. And then I returned it and got the REI down jacket instead. It weighs about half as much, has a really cute profile (dips down at the back), and has a hood, which I was missing, even though this is a city coat. It's not quite as warm as the Radalie, and it really wants those wrist fleece guards. REI also got the zipper right so it can't snag. So I would say Patagonia could take tips from the REI coat - featherweight feels great, profile is nicer - and REI could take a tip from this one - fleece wrists

Nice coat, but zipper can be temperamental

Regardless of negative zipper reviews, I bought this coat. The sale didn’t hurt either. :) Overall, I do like it, but I have to zip it up and down slowly or it will get caught. (The double zipper option where I can open it some at the bottom is a nice feature.) The coat is warm, but not for super cold temps where you’ll be outside for an extended amount of time. I like how light it feels because I usually hate wearing a coat due to the bulkiness. I also like the soft and warm pockets/inside sleeves. The inner pocket is an added bonus that somehow I just discovered after having for a few weeks! ;)

Odd Fit - Instant Return

I was excited to receive this coat. However, after trying it on, it was obvious that this coat has an odd fit. The sleeves are strangely tight compared to the body of the coat. I purchased my normal size, and even with just a long sleeve top underneath, I felt restricted bending my elbows. Layering any sort of sweater underneath would be out of the question. Interestingly enough, the body of the coat fit great and had extra room. Sizing up to accommodate the tight arms would cause the rest of the coat to be too big and wouldn’t block the cold… I’d skip this coat if I were you unless you try on in store and confirm you like the fit…

GREAT jacket, but…

This is a great jacket - beautiful color, lightweight, insulates really well, very packable.. only two things I wish were different: 1. I REALLY wish this had a hood, and 2. The collar of this jacket shows the oil/dirt it absorbs from being against your neck, making you want to wash often. I’ve only worn this jacket maybe 10 times for short stints of commuting and traveling, and I personally think this looks bad. I’m contemplating returning or exchanging..

In love with this jacket!

I have seen this or a similar style Patagonia jacket being worn by women for a few years now and always thought it was very flattering. I was so happy to find one on sale! This is the lowest price I have ever seen this, and my favorite color is blue, I love the New Navy color of this jacket. It’s extremely pretty and a classic color. I bought the XS before reading the reviews and was nervous that it would be too tight and long for me. It actually fits me perfectly. I am very petite at 4’10” and find that the length is actually exactly where I had hoped it would be on me. It comes about two inches above my knee and the sleeves hit about mid palm. The sleeves feel great on me. I weight lift so I have larger arms for my size and can easily fit a bulky sweater in them. I love the slender look of the jacket as well. For reference my waist is 25”, bust is 31”, hips are 35”. I usually choose a small in jackets but since the XS was the only one on sale, I decided to gamble and was pleasantly surprised. Being so small, it’s very hard for me to find a warm coat that doesn’t swallow me up. This one is very flattering on me and shows my waist a bit. I love how lightweight it is as well. I hate heavy coats so I see myself wearing this one all of the time. The double zipper is very nice as well. I have not had the issue with the zipper getting stuck like a lot of others have. It zips very smoothly for me. Best of all, this coat is VEGAN! After seeing how popular it was in my area (Michigans Keweenaw Peninsula), I assumed it was down. Especially with how thin and light it is. I was so happy to see that it is fully synthetic and partially recycled on top of that. I LOVE THIS JACKET!

Warm & beautiful coat

I am 5'7", 138#, 34D chest. My other Patagonia items are smalls, but I sized up to a medium based on reviews of this coat. It fits great through the arms and shoulders, so I would say it probably runs a little small (if I had ordered a small, I feel like the shoulders would have felt tight). However, the medium gives me extra room around my midsection, when I like a little more fitted jacket. I can definitely wear a sweater or hoodie under this and have plenty of room. So size up if you feel like you're in between sizes or don't want a fitted jacket, but I think this is just a slimmer cut parka & that it doesn't run as small as other reviews state.

Cute, lightweight but...

It is very fashionable, but... if you have HIPS, you will need a size larger. I am a size 8 at the top and a 12 on the bottom, and I needed a large to fit over my butt. 1) The zipper is awful/cheap -- it COULD be because of the design as the baffle to "cover" the zipper is very lightweight and catches very easily! It has gotten caught about 5x already, and once I was almost about to take some scissors to it to get out of the jacket! I ended up having to BREAK the zipper to get out of the jacket. 2) The jacket doesn't BREATHE. I wore it a few times and honestly, could smell my body odor in the UNDERARMS. Why can't Patagonia make their coats BREATHE??

Love this coat

Exactly what I was looking for - warm, light, and long. And the most important good quality and durable. I have only had it for a couple of months now but so far I absolutely love it. I hope it lasts many many years to come. I am almost 5’9” and about 155lbs and I got a medium.

Lightweight parka

I live in California, so I like that it’s lightweight yet warm. It’s not a bulky parka like most I’ve seen, which was part of the draw, as well as the sale and color, which I got in the balsamic because most of my wardrobe is black :) I didn’t discover the inside pocket until a week later, as most costs I have with inside pockets have it on the left whereas this is on the right. My concern was that the sleeves wouldn’t be long enough but they fit for me. I got a size xs and am 5’3”, 130 lbs. The zippers didn’t seem temperamental to me, but then again I’m slower with zippers to avoid jamming. All in all a great coat for the right price :)

Great fit, super warm

I’ve been wanting a Patagonia puffy for quite some time and finally pulled the trigger with this guy. Typically I wear small tops, but I buy medium jackets just in hopes for added layering room. I had read these run on the small side but figured a MD would still be big enough and it is! I’m 5’9” and about 150, the length comes to about mid thigh and the jacket is large enough in the body for a base layer, tshirt and light sweater all layered up together. The pockets are perfect size and placement was well thought out. The sleeve cuffs are also wide enough to fit thicker gloves/mittens underneath. 10/10 would recommend!
