Extreme comfort

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 6’1-200 41 chest and an L is slightly loose in a good way. I’m an XL in ALL other marmot tops, jackets but this I’m an L and an XL gives the when did I shrink feeling of being in your dads clothes as a kid. This is 51/49 jacket/shirt. Fleece in core is long, longer than TNF campshire, Kuhl Joyrdr and more plush. Buttons are a little stubborn off the bat but become easier. Sleeves have no fleece and slide over layers if this isn’t on the skin. Can wash it, but each wash makes inside a little less plush so hand wash I think is best for longevity. I bought 1, received it and immediately bought another. Can’t recommend more than that.

Sleeves are too small

Sleeves are barely big enough to fit my wrists through. Besides that I like it.

Exactly what I was hoping for

I bought this about a month ago, and I love it. It's super warm, and cozy, yet not too heavy that I feel I need to take it off every time I walk indoors from the cold. Layers well both overt top and underneath. Also, it looks good! I've received several nice compliments. I typically wear large shirts, but I find the Medium fit me perfectly, so they might run a tad large. The only thing I'd criticize is that when buttoned, the sleeve closes tightly around my wrist, which can make it difficult to get off. So, you just gotta take an extra second to button/unbotton when wearing, but that is such a minor issue! This shirt/jacket is worth it, and I would recommend it!

Excellent w 1 small fault

I have really enjoyed this shirt. It's heavier than I would normally go for, but the substantial feel is just perfect for what it's perfect for. Great to throw on to go to work, and then wear home after. Great for grocery store at night. Great for casual night walks. I love the soft fleecy hand warmer pockets! Nice & long. But why why why would somebody think a big heavy duty shirt like that should have little teeny baby sleeve collar button openings. I don't have big burly arms or wrists, but there is no way I can button the left sleeve over my 920XT, and the right sleeve is uncomfortably tight w nothing on my wrist...

But its not a shirt as much as a jacket

It's fleece lined in the body, poly-lined in the sleeves. A fairly heavy cotton flannel outer and I think it has insulation sewn in too. So although I love mine, I think they should be describing this as a heavy shirt jacket and not a 'long sleeve shirt'. I believe this is the same product that appears in the "74 collection". The poly-lined sleeves make it very easy to pull this over whatever other long sleeve shirt you are wearing; it's designed to slide over an underlayer, not bind. The fleece in the body makes it feel extra soft and warm. I love mine, but it's a warm jacket, not a shirt. 'heavyweight' to me could mean the thickness of the material. But in this case, it means "lining, insulation and flannel outer".

Best purchase and gift

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for myself and loved it so much I got one for my father, father in law, and brother in law for Christmas. Even talked my coworker into buying one for her father!!! they all loved it. lightweight, comfortable, and keeps you warm. My biggest concern when purchasing any item is comfort. This nailed it!!! I have gotten many compliments from coworkers and strangers. I own multiple styles now. worth every penny. Tempted to try more marmot gear!! I may be your best bird dog!!!! 'Bout time to put me on payroll boys!!!!

Old School

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking for a casual shirt-jac style garment - more than a shirt, less than a jacket, for three-season wear. Marmot's Ridgefield Heavyweight Flannel Long-sleeve Shirt almost fit the bill. The liner is a bit heavy for three-seasons and the plaid colors a little curious, but it is quite comfortable and I do like the style. For me the men's small fit well, perhaps a scooch long in the sleeves. Overall the garment is very well made, as you might expect from Marmot. Recommended for two-season wear.

Warm and snug

After trying this on in an REI on a trip I ordered it when I returned home.. Love the warmth of the shirt/jac.. Pockets are a nice addition as well...Only problem I have is I'm sort of between a large and extra large (i.e, little larger than necessary in the middle).. I have the large and am happy as it is really snug in cold weather over a sweatshirt but also fits nicely over a t shirt in less cold weather.. Really happy I bought this shirt and look forward to many years of service..

Wear it all the time.

I love this shirt. It's my second one. I wear it all the time. One difference between the current model and the Ridgefield I purchased three years ago has to do with the outer fabric. The current model is a cotton/poly flannel blend. It pills. The previous version did not pill. While I like the current flannel, I'd prefer a non-pilling outer layer. But this is a minor issue, which does not affect my five-star rating. I'm 5'9" and 160lbs: a small fits perfectly.

Perfecto Shirt-Jacket

Love this Shirt-Jacket. At 6'0, 180 lbs, the Medium fits me well. It is comfy, cozy, warm and appears durable. I wanted something that can take the abuse of fall/winter outside fire pit sessions and yard work, while also serving as a warm jacket-ish after outside sports of XC and trail runs. The cut is relatively slim which is what I wanted. Perhaps the only missing feature I would like is a moisture wicking component on top but I have not tested it in rain/snow.
