Best jacket ever
Shar

I bought this jacket on a whim after being ambushed by REI employees at an REI store who all raved about how much they loved this jacket. Expecting to eventually return it, I bought it to placate them. Now, 2 years later, I am still wearing it constantly. They were right. It's 100% breathable, so lightweight that I can barely tell I'm wearing (or carrying) it, and it magically makes me feel perfectly comfortable no matter if its 30-60 degrees outside. It's not windproof, but if it's windy, I wear my shell on top. I can't say enough good things about this. Way better than any other jacket on the market.

Nice jacket, too short

I purchased this jacket because my husband loves his. The fabric is great, the mobility in the arms and shoulders is superior to other jackets I tried - but it’s too short, especially in the front. I find it frustrating because the back is cut longer but the front just reaches the top of my pants. In order to get more length I would need to size up but then the arms and body are so wide.

Ridiculously Perfect

I was looking for a new jacket that would pack easily, was light, but warm. Somewhat of a taller order when you have a down allergy. So I did my research and read a lot of reviews and this kept coming up. So I went for it. This is easily one of the best purchases I have ever made. I have a full range of motion in this jacket, it is warm, and it does block wind incredibly well. I love how lightweight this feels, it is breathable with the side panels. I will probably end up buying another one of these in another color (which I read in many reviews that other people have done). I love love love this jacket, it is ridiculously perfect!

Only winter jacket you’ll need

An REI team member told me this is the only winter jacket I’ll need in Chicago and I did not believe her. She is actually correct! I still can’t believe such a light weight jacket could be sufficient, but it’s true. I consider myself a very cold person, and I’ve even wear this walking at night 2 miles to/from my gym with just a sweatshirt under and a hat. I wear my marmot rain coat on top in heavy snow or rain, but light precipitation dries very quickly. It washes so easily as well. I think I’d actually say this is my favorite purchase ever. For sizing, I’m 5’2, 115, and the XS is perfect. It fits so well I even wear it out on the weekends!

Favorite Jacket

I went into REI planning to buy a Patagonia down jacket and walked out with this one in burgundy after multiple employees told me how much they loved it. Despite living in Texas, I wear it all the time. I keep it in my car for the grocery store, wear it on planes, and just got back from traveling for a few weeks in Europe and wore it every single day. It’s like wearing a nicely fitted sleeping bag on - light and warm but also very breathable. I would say good for temperatures in the 50s and 60s without a sweater and 30s/40s with a sweater. The hood also keeps you nice and warm. I also love that it’s super packable and machine wash/dry. By far my favorite jacket ever!

Awesome, so warm

I wish they made these in the same colors as the mens! I bought the burgundy and I love it. It's very warm and super lightweight. I can pack it easily into my bag. I bought this in anticipation of hiking in New Hampshire later this month, but I think it will keep me very warm and it feels great. I want to wear it all the time! I followed other reviews and sized up to L because I wanted to be able to layer underneath. The length and size are good with L - for reference I am 5'6 and 145lbs.

Flattering fit

I'm a big fan of Arc'teryx because of the quality, fit, and technical aspects. I needed a new jacket that would work for Alaska hiking, boating, winter sports (on warmer days), and as an around town layer. The Atom LT Insulated Hoodie has been perfect for all of those activities this year. For colder days during winter, I'll layer this up with my Arc'teryx Beta AR shell. I'm 5'6" and 140 pounds and ordered a large. My normal Arc'teryx size is medium but I wanted a little extra room to account for layers. This jacket still feels fitted and stylish. It's definitely lightweight and warm, without being too puffy.

Love this Jacket

I love this Jacket! I'm not the kind of person that spends a lot on clothes in general, but because I was going to Iceland in October, Idid some research, I got this one. And haven't regretted it. Kept me warm under my rain shell when it was extremely windy and rainy. I wore the jacket alone most of my time there. Super comfortable, packs light into the hood (used it as a pillow on the plane and car rides). The only negative thing I can think off (i'm wondering because of wear+tear) is that the zipper has been slipping down from my collarbone to my breast bone while I walk and have my back-pack on. Overall, LOVE this jacket. Wore it all through "winter" in Vancouver, and now into spring. And will be taking it to my trip to Switzerland, France and Italy trip in May. (The colour I bought: Black Saphire).

WHAT HAPPENED?

Let me start with I LOVE ARCTERYX. I have more items than I can count. This is my second Atom hoodie my first was stolen after 1 year. I loved my first Atom so much I went out and bought a replacement right away. I have had it for 2 weeks and to my dismay the back is destroyed. The fabric has worn through to the point where it's almost see through. I haven't even had a chance to actually use it so this damage occurred from wearing into town. I'm so disappointed.

Fantastic jacket

I've worn this jacket everyday since I got it on December 26th. It is so comfortable and has kept me warm from 40 down to 20 with a windchill of 15 (with a fleece under it). I'm sure I could be comfortable in even colder temps with a good base layer and a fleece and a shell on top. Cuts the wind pretty well too. It is worth the money, IMO. I'm 5'1 and 120 and got the small, which leaves enough room to layer underneath.

Superjacket

The best insulating jacket ever. I hope it is available always, or if not I have to buy few right away:D Jackets shape is great and it won´t get dirty very easy. If it rains you don´t get wet very easy. It is also breathable. Only minus is that fleece inside the jacket might get pilled, that is the only thing I would change if I were manufacturer. My jacket is 10 months old, very good shape still.
