Cumbersome
I got this cleaning kit because the other one (Park) was not in stock. It does the job, but after using both, I have to say this one is cumbersome. You need to hold the button down to release the cleaner onto the chain as you turn the pedals backward. With the Park, the chain passes through the chamber which "soaks" the chain in the cleaner as it scrubs. I guess the Muc-off may save on chain cleaner, but Simple Green is my go to, and relatively cheap. I did appreciate that the kit included a interchangeable spray top (along with the drip into the cleaning chamber). The directions were also very helpful (clean those sprockets first!)
Okay chain cleaning machine, with frustrations.
Meh, gets the chain clean like any other chain cleaner out there. Reservoir gimmick doesn’t work as well as it seems, the idea of having a “clean” and “dirty” reservoir is interesting, but it just seems like I’m using up a lot more chain cleaner than I should be. MAJOR FRUSTRATION: The clean fluids reservoir is very hard to rinse out after the fact, there are little screws that will probably strip very fast if you unscrew them with every rinse, aside from how finicky that is. The lack of a retaining hook like on Pedro’s pig makes rotating the chain and holding the cleaner a bit harder to wield with just two hands.
garbage - get the one from park tool instead.
this thing does not do a great job of cleaning the chain on any of my bikes. the internals are almost all plastic, very few brushes. they come out really easily, which I guess may be good for cleaning out the tool, not sure. I got my chain clean with a lot of extra effort and time, but I will be returning. I had the park tool cleaner and it broke (sponges came out) after heavy use for about 3 years. only reason I got the muc-off version is that my local REI didn't have the park tool version in stock.
Pretty amazimg
I used different chain cleaning solutions but never this effective and since this is pretty new I don't know of it will last but it looks well built so I assume it will
Pain to fill
The store didn’t have the Park Tool in stock, so I went with this. I wanted to use my usual Finishline citrus degreaser, but the filler is an eyehole designed to be filled with the Muc-off bottle. Ironically, the store didn’t even have refills for sale. Fortunately, I was able to unscrew the filler cap and fill it that way. It’s a little messy, but it get the chain clean.
About the same as Dawn and a toothbrush
This does not clean very well. I have used it twice now, wasting drivetrain cleaner and ending up with a still-dirty chain. It jams almost constantly. It is less labor-intensive to use a toothbrush and scrub for 20 minutes. Maybe useful if you never want to take your chain off.
Works great but not as well on ebikes
Works well but on ebikes where the pedals only free wheel backwards you have to reverse the container and can’t use the handle. You need to take care not to catch your fingers in the spokes as you hold it.
Waste of money
As the Park chain scrubber was not in the store, I purchased this. It is poorly designed and the cleaner that comes with it doesn’t clean, rather it spreads the grease. I will be returning it as the bottom moldmark was cracked when I opened the package
My chain is so shiny
Used it once and loved it. Good investment. Us it once every few months when I do a crazy clean of all my bikes. Can be messy! Don’t use over white carpet! Rookie mistake on my part. It’s easy to clean. Everything comes apart and it’s simple to but back together.
A must have.
I've only used it once so far but it seems to work well. Everything is well built and most importantly, it gets your chain clean. Doesn't have a sponge inside but the little brushes and plastic teeth do a good job of cleaning your chain.
