Love it - easy way to carry around my keychain bun
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was extremely simple to set up my Nite Ize S-Biner. I took it out of the packaging and pushed on one of the plain metal (non-orange) parts to open it. I have a Jellycat mini bunny that has a ribbon attached, intended to be carried on a keychain; I have never taken him anywhere before, so I decided to put him on the carabiner. It was completely seamless to do so. The bunny stayed secure throughout my whole trip out. My favorite part of the dual design was that I could wrap part of the ribbon around the other side by opening it up, pulling it through, and then wrapping it around the diagonal orange part. That way, the ribbon didn’t hang at too long of a length, and it was easier to keep the bunny from getting caught on things. Love this carabiner - I think my bunny loved it too! <3
Sturdy & smooth open/shut!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is small but mighty! Very sturdy and can hold a lot of weight, yet it is also super light-weight and slim. Dual openings makes for fast and easy attachment to another item without losing original connection. I rely on these to help prevent loss of items like keys. Definitely recommend!
Never again
I used the size 2 to carry a Fisher space pen on my belt loop. The pen was attached to the carabiner with an o-ring--the old fashioned kind you have to wrestle around 3 times. Much to my amazement, after a day of mild hiking (no slithering through tight spaces), the pen and o-ring were gone. Empty carabiner on my belt, apparently with no damage, still springy. The only way for houdini to have escaped was the s-carabiner opening. Bad luck. So i bought another S-carabiner and another space pen. And two hikes later, the same thing happened! I'm changing brands because i don't trust the flimsy looking locking one either.
Simple and practical
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It has actually been super useful... I've been using it for my car keys and it keeps them secure and easy to grab when I'm on the go...It's lightweight but feels sturdy and the dual gate design gives me extra peace of mind because my keys don't slip out The bright orange color also makes it easy to spot which is a big plus when I'm in a rush... Overall it's a simple and practical accessory
Just what I needed!
I was looking for some mini-caribiners to hook a couple of small tools onto my camera tripod. I bought the #1 S-Biner (2-pack) at a hardware store. They were small enough and so very easy to clip on and off. They work so much better than regular carabiners! So happy I found them!
Love the lock
I have used these for a while. I bought the slide lock one and lost one of the slides. Wonder if I could purchase. Other than that I love these.
Like the Idea; Wonder about Springs
Until now, I've used a heavier, standard clip on my belt for a long watch chain style keychain. I bought these for a better looking option. I have examined them and I'm sure they will work fine, but have not actually worn them yet. Concerning the one bad review concerning seizing up with seawater exposure, I wonder if that might not happen with almost all such hooks. I wonder how many designers and manufacturers think about what the internal spring will be made of and whether it will be as resistant to corrosion as the stainless clip itself.
Connected a grabber to a walker.
I bought this as an experiment and it worked out really well. In effect, you have two split-key-rings but they are fixed in a flat 2D shape rather than turning 90-degrees to each other.
Consistently drops keys
The design where each clip overlap makes it so when you open one side to take a key off, the otehr side is against your palm and opens as well. I have dropped keys multiple times and finally lost one for a trailer lock on a borrow trailer this weekend. This should not be advertised as a key holder, as all the photos show, Niteize has a locking version of this and the ahh bottle opener one I had for several years before one of the springs broke. I will buy one of those instead.
Useful for Hiking and Travel
I keep finding new uses for this S-Biner for both Travel and hiking. So useful I make a point of keeping one in my travel and hiking kit.
