Got these on a pro deal about a year ago, really happy with them coming from some low end Mad Rock shoes. Bought these for primarily sport climbing outdoors and bouldering indoors and they have worked well for them. First trip was a week in Canada, had trouble with them made my feet numb but since have adjusted to my feet and I can wear them for a while without much pain. I wear a 8.5-9, bought these at a 9 but could've downsized possibly. Didnt look for a tight as heck fit as a first "real shoe". Great all around shoe, and a great backup shoe, but not aggressive enough for technical climbs and not comfortable enough for all day excursions.
Great all around shoe that is priced right! First Tenaya shoe I ever climbed in and they impressed right from the fit out of the box. True to fit with street size, or maybe half size down. Super comfy! Great for gym use of most all grades. A solid go to shoe for those days just hanging in the crag doing laps on your favorite routes.
I have resoled them once. I used them indoor climbing and bouldering, outside bouldering. Pretty happy with them. The only two things that I would mention: Heel: the part of the sole that goes up the heel could be a little bit higher. When heel-hooking it is in the sweet spot, so it started to come apart. When bouldering outside, the straps can take a beating, as shown in the picture. Although this should be true to any shoes that has velcro straps and metal loops. This is the main reason why I am not resoling them again, in addition to have taken a beating.
I got these as an alternative to my aggressive Miura since they are so uncomfortable they’re not a great all day climbing shoe. The Tenaya RA is great for just about everything. They’re very comfortable so they’re my favorite crag shoes. They are men’s sizing so I had to downsize more than usual. Overall I highly recommend these shoes.
Was having trouble with neutral shoes since I have decently high arched feet. After being in pain for a while a employee at rei had me try these on. Life saver love them great moderate shoe as I am working V4,V5. The only complaint would be they started to seperate a tiny big around the edges. Used a little shoe goo on them. Barely stretched also just formed to my feet.
Love these shoes. I have been wearing them for some of the climbing I do for over a year. I sized down 1/2 size from my street shoes, and I find them really comfortable. I have used them mostly in the gym, but I have also used them on a 10 pitch climb where I had to leave the shoes on. They were perfect for that. Comfortable and performed well. The rubber is sticky and they smear well on the wall. I recommend them.
The RA climbing shoe was an amazing upgrade from my beat up entry level pair that I’ve used for years. The slight down turn helped improve my ability to stay in the smallest ledges and cracks. To sum it up, it provides a lot of comfort straight out of the box, and has helped me jump up my climbing rating significantly!
I loved these shoes. The are the most comfortable pair of shoes I've owned.
