Packaging Prison and Purgatory

Ok so far so good. But I came on here to leave a review specifically complain about the packaging. I got the 6 cam pack .4-3 and it is so hard to get them out of the packaging. I’ve destroyed two pairs of scissors. I’ve snagged thread on the #2. I’m terrified of cutting thro of he dyneema completely but the zip ties are practically fused with the dyneema. Truly feel like winning the hunger games or the triwizard tournament would be easier than getting these 6 cams out of the packaging. Wish me luck bc I came on to leave this review only halfway through. I have 3 more friends to free from the confines of this maximum security prison of plastic. Otherwise they look great and I’m looking forward to using them in the approximate 60-90 business days when I finally have the strength and courage and tools to remove these insanely thick zip ties.

Better than the C4

The C4 may be the gold standard, but don't overlook these. The extendable slings are great and they are lighter than the 2019 C4

Sick

These are sick and some of my coolest friends for sure. Practicing leading with them and they are indiscernible from BD cams from others' racks. To me, these feel slightly better and look a little nicer than cams. I also like my other Wild Country gear and the quality I have experienced, so this was an easy pick. Consider a 4 to add to this rack for bigger cracks.

Good Friends

This is my first set of cams, I bought two of these packs along with two .3’s and a #4 to top it off. The only complaint I have, and I think this should be noted on the website because it’s false information. These cams do not go up to 12kn. They max out at 10kn all the way up to the #3 had I known this before I probably would have opted for the regular camalots 🤷‍♂️ other than that they seem great and work well.

Super solid, love the sizing and extendable sling

These cams just feel so solid. I really like that they are a slightly different size than other brands, it really helps to get a great placement that would be a little baggy or just too small with other sets, I especially like them in Indian Creek for this reason. But I've also found them awesome in granite, and the extendable sling is so nice for when you just want a bit more length but don't want to burn a draw...or high on the pitch and already used all your draws haha.

Gets the job done

Pros - extendable sling helps with rope drag and walking when your low on draws/slings -reasonably priced - Lighter then BD C4s but not as light as other options. Cons -I found the cam lobes exceptionally difficult to pull back when you are pumped and redlining on at limit climbs -Cam sizes are mildly larger then of other brands in the same colors. All in all a hammer is a hammer and they will get the job done.

Classic, reliable, well made

Used regularly for single and multipitch climbing. These cams are great for anyone new or experienced in trad climbing. I loved that the sling could be adjusted even a little bit for extra extension, and the quality is excellent. Make sure when buying you know the best gear for your purposes, as the offset or zero friends could be a better choice. For an all purpose rack, these are my go to. Love using these.

Sturdy, lightweight

Easy, smooth camming motion. Feels sturdy and the expandable slings are a great addition. Haven't whipped on them yet but I don't question them holding me off the deck when that time finally comes.

meh action

got these to try out after using black diamond. nice cams but the draw action felt sticky like there was drag when pulling the trigger. was enough to return with intention of sticking to black diamond. talked with many others and they agree. action can't compare to bd. i'd use them if they were cheaper but personally, they're just meh. extendable slings aren't really all that either.

My Best Friends

These are a fantastic addition to my rack. I like these as an alternative to Black Diamond’s C4 as they are very similar in sizes and come with the added bonus of extendable sling and less weight. The extendable sling is short and do not replace the alpine on my rack but they add a margin of safety by allowing you to extend to avoid a feature that may cause your draw to unclip.
