Strictly for little paper cups...
I wanted to have a coffee cup holder, a traveler mug type that would keep it warm and not rattling in a bottle cage. While this looked like a good idea, a $22 aluminum ring with a rubber insert and a tapered hole. I can’t find a cup to fit it. I tried the Yeti tapered tumbler, a few different Starbucks travelers, it is too big for a can or a bottle, but too small for a coffee cup. The only way I see this improving would be if it were sold as a cup and holder combo. It looks nice. It doesn’t have to be ready for big descents or off roading, it just has to hold the cup.
Great looking, holds nothing
I purchased because it looks nice. My Yeti tumbler continues to tumble out every time I hit a bump. A standard size can falls right through. It's become rather funny. We refer to this as the cup holder that holds nothing....I've decided to return it. A great idea would be for Electra to sell the right cup that fits. If this were offered, I'd just purchase a new cup.
Aesthetically pleasing by functionally inept.
It fits Starbucks venti paper cups perfectly. However, I haven’t found anything else that is skinny enough to go down in it, I ordered a Yeti rambler that looked close but the base just sticks in and after a single bump it popped out.
works great
All the bad reviews for this item are because their cups didn’t fit in it. My tumbler happens to fit perfectly, and it works great. I have a 12oz Miir insultated tumbler, available on Amazon. Similar cup holders also seem to have a hard time staying firmly attached on the handle bar. This one gets very tight and has no movement on the bar at all.
Does Not Hold Securely
The cup holder is extremely well made, but it's too heavy to hold securely to a handlebar even when you tighten it securely before you begin your ride. It may help if Electra added a silicone gasket to reduce the slipping that occur even with small bumps.
Fits Klean Kanteen Well
I have the 16oz insulated tumblers by Klean Kanteen and they fit perfectly. It also hold their 8 oz insulated cappuccino cups as well. Very snug! Anything cylindrical won’t fit.
Nothing Fits
Like all the other review here I can't find a cup that fits. I bought one from REI that falls out every time I turn or hit a bump. I had some smaller ones I tried they don't fit either. Very poor design. REI commented they had several that would work I can't find one in the store or online.
Not well designed
I had this installed by REI on my new bike. But when I got home and tried several different cups/tumblers, I couldn’t find a single one that would fit. Everything just sits up way too high and I know it will fall out if I hit a slight bump. Electra needs to rethink this design.
Nice Cup Holder
This was easy to install. I put it on my bike so I could ride to the Dutch Bros, just down the road and even the large drink fit snugly, yet was easy to take out and put back in while riding. I am very happy with this product.
Design flawed
Doesn't fit a regular cup so could not use it and returned it.
