Using to ocean paddle in the winter
I got these to paddle "dawn patrol" 6am in the dark for winter outrigger. I am so happy with these pants. They keep me warm and comfortable and I don't overheat. I think they also look great, just like the pictures. They are easy to get on and off and wash well. I use a wetsuit cleaner and hang dry. I bought the NRS kayak booties and they complement each other perfectly.
size down for in-water use? (surfing)
I bought these for surfing in mild temperatures, primarily to prevent chafing on the inner thighs. They are super comfortable and love the way they look, but am wondering if they are too big... out of the water they do not look big, but feel like they have plenty of room. in the water, i can feel a lot of water filling up and they feel a little baggy almost. I fit perfectly a small according to size chart, though--should I try exchanging to size down for an XS? (I am 5'5", 125-130 pounds, but with a small butt for someone my size).
Love love love!
They are perfect. The fit is amazing, they keep you warm, they are easy to wash, and they look great. The high waist makes them really comfortable. The color is rad too. Perfect for wearing on cooler days when it isn't cold enough for a drysuit, but too cold for shorts. I would definitely purchase again.
Great to add a little warmth to paddling
I love these HydroSkin pants. It is refreshing to have a color instead of black. They are functional and look great. I used them in the ocean when I needed a little more warmth and protection than just shorts. They also have these in capris and in shorts. I recommend all three.
Look great, feel great
I bought these for kayaking in the cold Pacific in California. They did the job, and they're very comfortable too!
Great fit and color--not breathable!
I bought these intending to use them for both water sports and some dry land activities, but I'll probably be returning them. I really wanted to love them! They look great on, and the .5mm style is just right for extending the season, but they're so uncomfortable to wear for longer than a few minutes if you're not in the water! They're less breathable than full 5mm wetsuits I've worn, somehow! I don't sweat a whole lot, but I just feel... damp all over. It's not a great feeling when you're in a kayak or on a paddle board and you don't want to be wet. Also, the fit is a bit weird. Maybe it's just my proportions, but they fall above the ankle on me (5'8, wearing an xs, as if 25in inseam). I love the look, so if these were fashion leggings, I'd absolutely keep them, but the little bit of ankle sticking out of my booties is going to get chilly!
Great for cold weather paddling
In 2020 I got hooked on stand up paddle boarding and wanted to continue doing it after summer. Bought these pants for the fall and they were great! They're very cute. I was worried about the fit as I am bottom heavy but was happy that they fit fine and kept me warm.
Great light water pants
Perfect weight for kayaking in cooler windy conditions for my sit inside kayak. Good for late spring through early Fall on the west coast of CA if you have a sit on top kayak and get wet. Easy wearing and fast drying
Fits like a glove!!
I’m 5’10” and about 174. These fit absolutely perfectly!!
