This has been great for backpacking, hunting, and even when getting caught in a May snow storm when turkey hunting in Michigan!
I use this tent in all weather and find the size perfect for two. I think the quality is good and am not sure why people would be encouraged to return an outdoor gear item they have used for 5 years. It does not seem to be a failure of the gear, but rather the amount of usage and wear and tear. They could do reasonable maintenance and reapply seam sealer as you would do to your house if a leak developed in the roof. Astounding.
The Nemo Losi 3P is an excellent 3 season backpacking tent. Two doors and vestibules and lots of space inside make rainy or cold weather easy. This current generation Losi 3P tent replaced our original tent which was purchased in 2013. Nemo replaced that tent very quickly under their lifetime warranty when the seam sealer began to fail and leak on both the fly and the tent bottom. Kudos to REI for keeping an electronic copy of our shopping records online, this made the warranty process quick and simple with NEMO. This newer version has a few upgrades and changes from the earlier model. Big improvements include curved zipper doors on both sides of the rain fly, allowing much easier access into the tent. The rounded rainfly doors include a ventilation zipper at the top which greatly improves the humidity levels inside the tent while still providing excellent protection from the elements. New flashlight illumination pockets work even better than the previous model. The new tent uses a heavier, more durable bottom material and a little less mesh low on the sides and still managed to shed a few ounces (3oz., according to Nemo). They did this by shrinking the tent two inches in width and three inches in length. I haven't noticed or missed the loss in space and the vestibules are a little bigger than the earlier model. It still feels very roomy inside. On the downside, the Jake's Feet poles have been replaced with old fashioned grommets and I found setting the tent up alone was more difficult. Poles were constantly popping out of the grommets before I could get all four plugged in. Once the tent is set up, it is a very secure arrangement. I'm sure that I will adopt some hack to hold the poles in place during set-up. Previously, the ground cloth stayed attached to the Jake's Feet and was quite simple to pack up with the tent body. There is no longer an organizer for the foot or head of the tent but the old version, if you have it, can be hooked into the new tent. This was always a nice option for car camping. The Losi 3P is still a great tent and the improvements more than offset the minor complaints I have about the ease of setup.
Great tent; light, packs up pretty small, did great in rain and wind, and it is surprisingly roomy inside with very usable vestibules. Seriously in love with this thing, everything you need and nothing you don't.
In an age when tents seem to get perpetually smaller to reach outrageously lighter weights, the Losi 3P makes a statement about “liveability”. Classified as a luxury backpacking tent, it provides true 3 person capacity at 75 inches wide. That’s 3 25 inch pads side by side by side! And with plenty of head room it is justa pleasure to spend time in. For two people it is cavernous. And still at a manageable size and weight to make packing it in reasonable.
Purchased this tent last year and it has already served me so well! Performs well in rainy weather, light weight, & super spacious tent! My only criticism is the gear sack it comes in isn't really my style but I just gave the tent it's own stuff sack and carry poles separately. I LOVE NEMO PRODUCTS - they do not mess around!
performed well overall, but during a hard rain, water seeped through the supposedly waterproof sides
