Alternative use in my truck is fantastic!
While I cannot speak to the use of this as an actual chalk bag for climbing, I picked one up to store a Hydroflask bottle in my Toyota Tacoma. My 32oz and up Hydroflasks never fit in my factory cup holders. After seeing a cool idea from another truck owner, I have used one of these bags to help hold my Hydroflask securely in my truck. The quality for the price is amazing and customer service directly through Static (Taylor) is second to none. She helped me out when I ran into a slight issue and really went above and beyond to correct it promptly. The bag looks great and still looks as good as new. I just picked up a second one as well. Highly recommend!!
Multipurpose!
An old forum post inspired me to use chalk bags as cup-holders! The stock ones in my '97 4Runner were not suitable for my needs as I use larger bottles. These chalk bags are thicker and stiffer so they're better at keeping their shape and have a quality look and feel. -- The bags and bottle never bother me and it's difficult for my leg to touch them even if I try, although it depends on the size and setup of your vehicle.
Beautiful Bag - Even Better Service!
I picked up this chalk bag after seeing it on REI’s website, but just a heads-up—the color shown there doesn’t quite match the actual bag I received. That said, I’m so glad it doesn’t! The real oxblood color (as shown on Static Climbing’s own website) is even richer and more beautiful in person. It feels unique and timeless—definitely stands out at the gym or crag. Beyond the look, the bag is super well-made and functional, with attention to detail you can feel. And you really can’t beat Static Climbing’s customer service and lifetime warranty. It’s rare to find a brand these days that stands behind its products like this one does. I’d absolutely recommend this to any climber who values both style and quality.

A Chalk bag's favorite Chalk bag
This is my second time purchasing the Static Climbing Waxed Canvas Chalk bag, Not b/c it wore out or anything negative but I had to get my climbing partner one ASAP. This bag is visually rad but structurally built solid. AMAZING craftsmanship. Love the ease of entry w/ the opening and structure it keeps. Support them, you won't be disappointed!

Good bag, no belt
Picked one up the other day. I spent the extra money on it like many of you because I thought it looked super nice. Functions as a chalk bag pretty great, but it doesn’t come with a chalk bag belt, you have to buy it separately (I think it’s $5). I think if you’re gonna have to pay this much for a small canvas bag it’d be nice if they included it. Other than that, great bag.
Color does not match the photo
Great quality but I got the orange one and it’s not even close to the photo. Its a dark red which is fine but I purposely bought this one because it was supposed to be orange
Overall Great Bag, Would Buy Again
The bag is great, I was a little worried after some reviews said it tended to close on them but so far I have not had that issue. I really like how it looks when it gets a little chalk on the outside. Unique looking bag at a good price. I do wish it came with a strap at this price, but I can’t complain as I had a spare at home. The best compliment I can give it is I have never had to think about while climbing. The Good: -Awesome Look (especially with chalk on it) -Large opening works better for my large hands than the last bag I had -Small Company -Flat bottom helps it stand up and prevent spills if I forget to close it The Bad: -Bag come folded in half and definitely wants to keep that shape. Took a little time to re-train the waxed canvas -Not the best drawstring closure, would definitely ‘puff’ if squeezed when closed, but I haven’t had any spills yet -Strap costs extra, putting this bag over the cost of competitors unless you can do without or have a spare.
Pretty. No belt
Very aesthetically pleasing. but it doesn't come with a belt, so be warned! its fine as a chalk bag. Stiffness of the bag makes it easier to get your hand in when you're a little desperate.
