I had Danners in the

I had Danners in the Marine Corps so I already knew that I wanted another pair before a big 3 day hiking/camping excursion inside Haleakala… Maui’s majestic volcanic crater at 10,000 foot elevation. The terrain is like being on Mars… with sharp lava rocks, volcanic sand and some gnarly switchbacks. Happy to report that the Jag Midnights performed flawlessly! Super light on the feet and when we were hiking through literal clouds they kept my feet dry. The first day was 10.3 miles, second day an easy (but not so easy) 3.3 then 7.3 to exfil the third day. The terrain was gnarly, but I didn’t get one blister while others were hurting. They are now ready to join the Danner family as well. Thank you for making such great gear!

After one week of wearing

After one week of wearing them the front is coming apart. They don’t work well for working at ups and it’s only been a month. My last pair last a year not this version but the quality of this shoe/boot isn’t that great will not buy this version again. As a result I have to buy another version because these will be done by the end of next week

Like everything about them except

Like everything about them except the rubber on the toes is coming off and breaking. Only have had them a couple of months and only wear a couple days per week.

I'm a mail carrier, walk

I'm a mail carrier, walk about 10-15 miles a day, was looking for some nice light weight hikers for summer. They started out great, super comfortable, the waterproofing is great also lightweight and cool. Unfortunately after about a month of use they've loosened up in the wrong places and getting hot spots on the outside of me feet and the tops of my ankles. Going to give them a break for a while, give them another chance in a week. Excited for cooler weather and hopefully purchasing some black mountain 600s when they get back in stock! I love the Mountain 600!

These shoes look great, and

These shoes look great, and they’re much more breathable than other waterproof shoes, but they’re very slippery on wet surfaces. Compared to other boots and sneakers I own, these things are far more slippery on wet concrete and asphalt. If I walk across a wet parking lot and get in my car, my feet slip on the pedals. They’re even a little slippery on smooth dry surfaces (smooth concrete w dust for example). I would not wear these at all if I expected to encounter ice on the sidewalk. Based on the fact that these are meant to be worn in wet weather, but are unsafe on wet surfaces, I unfortunately would not recommend these to anyone.

Surprisingly poor quality!

Bought these for my husband 6 months ago, and at 4 months they started to fall apart. What started as a crease in the middle of the toe box has turned into a large hole - they're nearing unusable. He only wears them for light urban hiking - basically walking our dogs on the trails - no more than 10 hours a week. Can't imagine what they'd look like by now if he wore them more. Really surprised and disappointed as I have a pair of Danner 600s that have held up great over the past two years. Maybe these were just a defective pair, but I don't feel like 150 hours of wear should result in so much damage. Consider another style.

Best boots I’ve ever owned.

Best boots I’ve ever owned. I like them so much I bought another pair. I was US Army Infantry (LI) for seven years (‘06 - ‘13) and walked a few places in a lot of boots. If I had these back then, I could have walked for another seven years. Now though, I’m still on my feet all the time, and I barely notice. They look sharp, they feel great, and I can take them into the apocalypse without worrying about having to eventually find a pair of boots to take off of a corpse, years down the road as I wander a desolate wasteland waiting for the inevitable march of time to extinguish my life. I will confidently march forward into the future-scape with these boots on my feet, thriving and perpetuating the life cycle with vigor and focused dedication. No but seriously, boots gud.

I am planning on contacting

I am planning on contacting Danner as these shoes have seams that rub on the inside of my feet just below the ankle area. Thought after wearing for a while it would subside but “no” just as painful and leaves red marks. My sons & grandsons are avid Danner customers and that is why I bought my first pair. Going to Europe in Sept. and thought these would be perfect as light in weight but most likely will be taking my Merrill boots instead. Not thrilled!

Nice looking shoe comfortable with

Nice looking shoe comfortable with good support. I work construction needed a durable pair of work shoes that would last. I live in MA so I needed a good one for the weather. They fit tight and well, but made the sides of my feet sweat where it really gripped my foot which can be tough on your feet in the winter getting hot then clammy cold. Besides that the front came unglued on me in the first two weeks so I am forced to send them in for "warranty check" being such an expensive shoe and the fact that they are falling apart. This is forcing me to purchase another pair of work shoes because these were my replacements to another brand. Hopefully you don't share this same problem and it was just my bad luck.

Hi Nicholas - Thank you for the review. The Jags are not made to be a work boot so unfortunately they will not last in that environment. If you have any questions, please reach out to our customer service team at info@danner.com or by phone 877-432-6637. The team would be happy to assist you.
