[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really love the colors along with the pop of the bright orange! I also love the fact that these are waterproof! They are very comfy and have a lot of cushion! I would definitely recommend them! Thanks, Timberland!
I got these on sale after reading tons of great reviews. There was that one review though… you know the one where the person says that they can’t show pictures of what these shoes did to their feet because it would be considered censored content? Ok well I ignored that one and Kels… I’m sorry. You were right! I did the usual breaking in by wearing them around the house and loved them. The first hike in them was a quick 2 miles on flat trails! It went great. My second hike was 6 miles with some hills and they performed perfectly, so I thought we were in the clear! Next hike was 4 miles in flat terrain, and I got small blisters on the balls of my feet—but I wasn’t wearing my regular hiking socks and I figured that was the issue. It wasn’t… and things were about to get really bad really fast My next hike was 10 miles with tons of elevation changes. I made sure to wear the socks from that first hike since I was sure that’s what had made the difference and caused the blisters. About 2 miles in (during the only FLAT part of the trail) I could feel blisters forming. By mile 4 I already had UNREAL blisters, some of the biggest I’ve seen and I used to run cross country so I’ve pretty much experienced every terrible thing that can happen to your feet. Or so I thought. The shoes felt oddly too narrow and yet too big… I don’t know how to describe it or why they took so long to start being naughty but it was pretty vicious. I stopped and added a second pair of socks, more moleskin, some bandaids, took an aleve and—since it was a loop and I had no choice—continued on. Somewhere on that brutal second leg some of the blisters popped. Have you ever felt blisters the size of silver dollars pop inside your shoes and then still had to keep walking? It doesn’t really hurt at first… you just suddenly feel your feet start to tingle and go a little numb. And there’s this strange calm before the storm and then… PAIN. And you have to keep walking. When I got home I did as much foot care as possible under the circumstances—warm salt soaks, ice packs, poultices, ointment, hydrocolloid bandages—for the next TWO WEEKS. The toenail on my second toe was demolished. It had gotten smashed against the toe box over and over because my feet kept sliding forward as I went downhill. Both the toenail and the skin around it popped and slid off like a ripe banana being peeled. (You’re welcome for that visual… it will haunt my dreams forever) The other foot looked like I was the victim of some horrible accident. I normally let in-tact blisters heal on their own but I was afraid this one would pop at some unfortunate moment (like while I was laying in bed)… so I made the call and popped it. Maybe that’s my bad? Maybe I should have just let it live its best life on my foot and not drained it? Either way it was a massive raw area that took a really long time to heal. The other blisters on the balls of my feet and toes that popped during the walk? They healed within a week or so. Regardless. This. Shouldn’t. Happen. This shouldn’t happen. Like. Ever. It was brutal, and likely made worse because I was WAY out in the wilderness when it happened. Those first few hikes were off pavement, but near enough to neighborhoods where I could have hobbled to the side of the road and called an Uber if I had gotten giant blisters. But no. I trusted these shoes and assumed that we were gonna do great things together so I took them out to the middle of nowhere with a daypack and a dream. As a result I could have very easily gotten stranded out there and was lucky I had a companion to help me along. It’s been 2 weeks and today is the first day I’ve been able to wear shoes. How can you tell a hiker that they can’t wear shoes, let alone WALK for two weeks? Being forced to sit around and do nothing has been almost as painful as the giant blisters. I have learned my lesson though and I will never again take the risk of buying shoes because they are on sale. From here until forever I’m only giving my feet the best shoes on the planet. It’s just not worth this kind of result to save a little money in my opinion.
I wear a size 6 regular consistently but have bunions so I was worried these boots would be too narrow based on some reviews. (I've tried wide width with other shoes before but they didn't usually feel any wider, just a 1/2 size larger.) I ordered these boots in a 6.5 and they actually felt just fine, almost roomy in the toebox as I went hiking. After a 4 hour hike in some slush I was pretty pleased, my feet were dry, they didn't hurt. My only issue was that the front of my left ankle felt a little chafed. Maybe I need to wear thicker/cushier socks or the tongue was laced awkwardly underneath?
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wore these hiking boots on my trip to the Galapagos and they were amazing! I was hesitant to get them because i haven't worn hiking boots in forever and I remembered them to be generally heavy, clunky, ugly and hard to walk in. These boots were phenomenal. I didn't have to break them in and they were as light as my tennis shoes. I was on a boat for the week and we had both wet and dry landings on islands for our hikes and these boots were actually waterproof and kept their grip on very slippery rocks. They're also really cute and I received a number of compliments on them. Highly recommend these boots! #SWEEPSTAKES
I have extremely sensitive feet that are prone to plantar fasciitis flare ups if I wear a shoe that my feet don't like. I purchased these online based only on reviews with the expectation I was going to try them on and have to return them. These boots ended up being the real MVP for me on my trip to the Swiss Alps. I've been walking several miles daily in rain, ice, and snow. I haven't slipped/busted my butt once. Besides a little snow getting into my boots when the depth was over my ankles, they kept me pretty dry. The most important thing for me was comfort. Even with my feet being prone to pain, my feet have not hurt once yet on this trip! Great foot/ankle support. They were slightly snug/ran a tad small in the toe area (I wear women's US10), but they seemed to break in relatively quickly for me that I didn't feel the need to exchange for a bigger size.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use the product 5 days out of the week for 8 hours per day for my job as a Hotel Front Desk Clerk. I really enjoy these boots because they've been the most comfortable footwear I've had in years, I used to work with a pair of Non slip shoes from Shoes For Crews but those always deteriorate within the first 2 months. As for the cons for the boots there really aren't any, I sadly did come across 2 defects within the first 36 days of working with these boots. The first being the stitching on the inside toward the top of the boot that connects the Collar to the boot, came undone slightly but is still connected on each side. As for the second defect was that the leather part of the boot was coming undone from the rubber sole of the boot. Other than the small defects the boots are AMAZING, like mentioned I've never had any pair of footwear as comfortable as the boots I've bought. I'm very content with the product and the Company Timberland. :) P.s I read the note about the sizing for this specific pair of boots. I did still get them in my original size but that's on me, Still boots are PERFECT
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] They are beautiful, comfortable, great quality. My ankles feel so safe wearing these boots. It's just Timberland.
Went on a ten mile hike with these for the first hike. It POURED the entire time, and the hike involved sheer rock and rock scrambles, which made everything very slippery. The one thing I wished was a little more traction in the toe, but honestly, I didn’t have much of a problem. If they got me through this hike comfortably and safely, I think they’re an overall great purchase! I only hike maybe once every few months, and I’ve read to go with the higher end boots with vibram soles, etc if you’re a more avid hiker, but these suited me well. My toes were the least in pain they’ve ever been at the end of a long hike, and no blisters. Definitely recommend!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have the hardest time finding shoes that I will like and that will fit. I wear a size 5 and most companies don't even make size 5. Timberland makes size 5 and the boots fit PERFECT. They are comfy, I use them for hiking and outdoor activities mostly and I get so many compliments ALL THE TIME. They make hiking so much easier and they are also so easy to clean. Unlike other shoes, I never get any dirt inside the boot. I love them and I will purchase more in other colors too.
I have needed to replace my hiking boots annually because of living in extreme heat. So I lean towards higher quality boots in the $200 range (plus or minus depending on my Coop dividend!) Supply shifted during the pandemic. First supply chain issues made options extremely limited. Ended up with a Danner boot - crazy comfortable but the sole and leather is too soft and it it loses is structure quickly. This time, the boots are generally recycled plastic. The shoe strings are akin to dental floss. Great for the environment but not the foot. So I opted for this Timberland boot. Timberland strong solid soles and good leather upper. Excellent quality laces and metal loop holes. For $100 (pre dividend). Excellent Value!
