Best fitting and feeling short on the market.
I loved this pant so much you could not buy it back from me. Get it, you won't regret it! You will want to also wear them to bed they are so comfortable. You will forget that you have them on. So soft and stretchy! Perfect for hiking and cycling and dining out. Take them anywhere. I get lots of compliments on the fit. You can wear them to work. What I don't like: Wish List: 1. Needs zippers on All Pockets and One extra cargo pocket on left leg. Men need many pockets because we don't carry a purse! Don't shortchange the pockets--put them all on and secure with zippers. We will decide if we need to leave them open. I miss the left leg cargo pocket! I need it. I keep looking for it. 2. String inside is fine, just make it thicker--the one in it now does not do anything-too weak.

No Room!
Bought these due to the great reviews, but if you have any muscle whatsoever, do not get these! I have 36 waist and a slightly muscular build, not huge, but my thighs are a little full and glutes have definition. These shorts are way too tight. The waist itself is true to size and fits, but if you have any junk front or back, forget it! These are skinny jeans in short form.

Buy them now or you’ll regret it.

All I can say is awesome. They fit true to size. They are not slim fitting. They are more like a standard fit. Perfect length with plenty of stretch. I will spend what ever it takes to get good shorts and these are money well spent. Just like every other Patagonia item I own they fit like they should. I’m 5’9.5” and 190 pounds with a larger frame. I ordered a 34 and they couldn’t fit better.

Great all around shorts!

Lightweight and very breathable. Can't say much about durability, I'm usually hiking in places that have cleared paths and don't climb or scramble. They're not too baggy nor are they too long. I'd call them tailored. If you have big thighs, they might be a little tight. Overall, I'm happy and will buy more.

great shorts

I use them everyday. They’re super comfy and very stylish - I think they stand apart with heir side pocket zipper design opposed to the big cargo pockets which I don’t like to have when I’m using them as everyday shorts. Make sure you wash cold. Don’t know why people have commented that they stretch out I haven’t had that problem. They’re a bit pricey so I only have one for now.

excellent all around

I purchased these last summer and a pair of prAna at the same time. The Patagonia shorts are miles better. True to size (prAna ran large for 32"), great pockets, comfortable, look okay and excellent outdoor attributes. I hopped off my bike this weekend and took a dip in the local pond - these dried reasonably fast and were comfortable. Wish there were more color choices

Very comfortable -- quickly stretched out though

As the world works for a size 33 waist like myself, I bought a size 34 after trying on a 32 that was tight enough everywhere to make me feel the need to go up a size. After a day of wear and mostly casual walking around in the city, I regret not going with the smaller size! The shorts stays up fine with a belt on a second wear. But, for what I paid, I wish the shorts had kept their shape after minimal non-strenuous use.

Daily beach wear

This pair of shorts was my daily wear while on a 10 day beach vacation. Put them on first thing in the morning and kicked them off when going to bed. Other than a pair of shirts the shorts were all that I really needed for the entire trip. Great beach wear and they serve well at social hour too! They don't retain water when in the surf and dry quickly when you get out. They are a bit loose for surfing in bigger waves but they are great for a day when you don't get worked over in the bigger action. The pockets comfortably hold a phone and wallet. Keep the rear pocket zippered or you will bring a bit of the beach back with you. They don't stain and they don't hold odors. A very nice pair of shorts.

Go-to shorts for the summer

This is my second pair (the others are tan) and I am a big fan of these shorts. They fit true to size and are comfortable without being baggy. The material is durable (I am rough on my clothes) and takes abuse pretty well be it in the yard, adventuring, or in town. I've worn mine both in an out of the water and appreciate their versatility, drying easily after an unplanned swim. Particularly, I like the pocket structure, especially the thigh pocket, perfect for a phone or keys and with a reliable zipper to keep stuff safe when I am out.

I’ve found my new favorite shorts

Very comfortable with well placed pockets. Purchased in hopes of updating my ‘khaki cargo short dad’ look. I’m very happy and hoping more colors in this style become available.
