I love it!
I love this little towel. It doesn't take up much space. It dries quickly. And the little pouch that it comes in is awesome. The little loop on the towel is nice for hanging it to dry it, and if it isn't completely dry when I'm all packed up, I can hang the little pouch on my motorcycle and it will continue to dry in the wind.
They are mini
I gave these to my family as stocking stuffers. Of course, I got one fir myself, as I’m taking a trip where all luggage, including my purse, can’t weigh more than 10 kg. It is small. I tried it out before Christmas and it did work. I dried my hair with it first, rung it out, and then dried my body. I had to ring it out a couple of more times, but it did work. My body was a bit damp after I finished, but I dried in just a couple of minutes. For travelers who are minimalist or for camping, backpacking, I think it’s perfect. It’s also good for snowy ski days for wiping yore face or goggles.
After my Summer Guiding in Alaska...
Loved this! Very light, love the little bag, absorbs a lot, and quick to dry. It's so light that I never noticed it in my backpack and so helpful to take dishes from filthy to kinda clean (then actually clean them at home)
Best camp towel!
This is the handiest towel. It is super liked compact and come with its own stuff sack that hangs just about anywhere you want. I like it so much. I’m gonna go back and buy one for each member of my family.
Better as a handkerchief than a bath towl
I've found that the edges begin to unravel after one or two washes, which has been a frustrating disappointment. It's small enough that I'm wondering how other folks have used it to dry off after cliff jumping or as a bath towel. It's about the right size to use as a pocket-sized handkerchief... which is nice in the rain, when I'm paddling, or in other damp conditions. Better than using paper tissues or disposable paper towels, that's for sure! It has a purpose, but I'd hesitate to use it as a replacement for other hand/bath towels or in place of a wash cloth when washing my face or my feet at the end of a long and dusty day.
Light, but best for lighter adventures
I brought this out on a thru-hike of the Long Trail in Vermont. It absorbed a decent amount of water, moreso when clean than when not. I didn't find its carrying pouch to be very useful: stuffing it back in was kind of annoyingly cumbersome and not terribly effective (the loop on the towel can somewhat easily fall off the clip on the pouch). Eventually I kind of gave up on the pouch and just put the loop through a carabiner attached to my backpack... which might be why one corner of the towel became frayed after a few weeks. I think this would work out well if you don't expect to get too dirty or wet.
Perfect small towel!
I wish REI would bring these back, especially in blue! They are small, lightweight, and quick-drying, so I throw one in to each of my mess kit setups to use as a napkin or towel during meals. They get washed with the laundry each week if I am home, and get rinsed and hung to dry if I am camping. They are always ready to go by the next day (usually by the next meal!), unlike some thicker microfiber towels which can take a day or two to dry in humid weather. The low price and small size ensure I can keep several on hand. I would easily pick up five or six more if they were available!
Great sweat towel
Great sweat towel. I clip this on the strap of my backpack. Light weight and easy to carry. If you get a little sweaty, just pull it out. After wiping the sweat off my face, it just hangs and the breeze dry's it off, ready for the next time.
Not really worth the price
To be honest, I primarily purchased this hoping to use it as a washcloth/facecloth when traveling. I liked that it was compact and quick drying. Unfortunately, when I used it on my face it felt scratchy, so it won't work for that purpose. I also wouldn't recommend using it on optical products (glasses, binoculars, camera lens, etc.) for the same reason, oddly scratchy. Probably works well as intended, as a very small towel. The towel itself is very simple and not really worth the $10 it cost, I think the cost is all in the little carrying pouch that comes with it.
Revision needed
The material and performance of this towel are fantastic however the decision to switch from a straight edge to this new sawtooth edge needs to be reversed. This simple change drastically reduces the lifespan of the towel. The prior variant only showed signs of edge fraying after a year of use and dozens of wash cycles. Now the new design frays in several places along all edges even after the first wash. This design change seems to make no sense other than to reduce the life of the towel intentionally so that we are forced to buy another. #notmycoop
