I love this harness! It is comfortable and best of all it has 5 gear loops. This has been great on longer trad routes where more gear is needed to get to the top. Also great for those days when I need to place a lot of extra confidence pieces. This hardness even made it to my wedding on Monkey Face at Smith Rock State Park!
I love this harness. As an employee at a climbing gym, I spend a significant amount of time belaying in this harness, and it is awesomely comfortable. It is also quite comfortable while climbing, hanging, standing, and walking. It has a nice, wide belt and the leg straps do not dig uncomfortably into my thighs. The padding is comfortable, yet breathable and thin so that it does not add bulk or weight. The harness is adjustable at the waist and both legs, which I find useful since I have a hard time finding harnesses that have enough space for my legs and can be tightened enough to fit my waist. Ultimately, this harness would suit many people well because it can be adjusted to fit a wide range of body proportions. It also has five large gear loops to accommodate a large supply of equipment. It can be folded up to a relatively compact size for travel. For reference, I am about 5'8' and 125 pounds and I wear size XS in this harness. I have primarily used this harness for gym climbing and belaying. I ordered my harness online, but I tried it on in a store first. I recommend trying on and hang-testing harnesses before you buy them because they fit can vary from person to person.
I tried on every women's harness at REI and swung from them and this was the clear winner for me. It's been super comfortable both indoors and outdoors and for long periods of time - I appreciate the padding. I'm both tall and thin with virtually no waist, and this was the harness that actually tightened enough to fit me. The gear loops are great, too. Love this harness!
This harness is very comfortable and has greatly improved my experience top roping in a local rock climbing gym. It fits me well and is very adjustable. The only negative is that if I am working on a difficult route and start to sweat I've found that the harness is not super breathable so I end up feeling very sweaty around my waist and thighs.
Comfy harness. No qualms with the design. Lightweight. Like many climbing harnesses, sizing runs kind of large. I’m 5’6 and 150lbs with hips and the medium fits me perfectly.
I really wanted to love the updated Luna- I've been a FIRM follower of this model basically since I started climbing. While the updates are mostly positive- an additional gear loop in the back provides lots of extra space, the overlapping design provides better accessibility to the back loops, an additional elastic to hold the waist adjustment tail out of the way, some might even dig the new color way- there are a couple of changes that have prompted me to look elsewhere for my next harness purchase. First, a couple smaller things. One the newest model, Petzl separated the harnesses' butt straps into two separate elastics/buckles. Why?? It's kind of small but also pretty annoying if you do need to drop the leg loops for a bathroom break or any other reason. I don't see any possible benefit to separating these into two. The overlapping nature of the gear loops also makes me wonder about the harnesses' versatility come winter. I think it's unfortunate that Petzl didn't keep the hard clip-in points for ice clippers but perhaps their new ice clippers will do the job just fine. That one I'll just have to wait and see on but makes me tend to think the Luna is becoming more a rock harness than the classic all-arounder. Lastly- and this is the sole reason I would never, ever buy this harness- the leg loops are heinously uncomfortable to stand or walk in. In this harness, I have the leg loops on the smallest setting. I think they might be more comfortable for folks who don't wear them on the smallest setting- you'll just have to try it on yourself to see. For me, however, the discomfort is bordering on intolerable. That being said, hanging in the harness or climbing in it feels fine. It's really just standing or walking. I'd highly recommend you try this one on before buying to make sure the leg loops suit you. As it is, I cannot wear this harness for any mission where I think I might be walking in my harness, e.g. up-and-over days. Overall, if your leg shape is suited to this style, a great rock harness that can easily make forays into ice or mountaineering. Very durable with a comfortable waist and ergonomic, thoughtful gear loops.
The harness I bought at REI, along with all my other gear, is working out fantastic. Everybody was very helpful.
Using for climbing at the gym. Easy to get on and off. Extra padding and leg loops not comfortable to walk in but comfortable climbing. Thankful for the extra padding during a short fall doing a top rope climb.
Like other members have stated, the leg loops are way too large on this harness! I got the S and it was perfect leg loops but slightly too small around the waist. I switched over to the M and the waist was great but the leg loops were HUGE even when tightened all the way.
The leg loops are way too large on this harness! The XS leg loops fit right but the waist was too small. The S waist fit great, but the leg loops were very loose even when tightened all the way.
