I'm still a pretty new climber just top rope and learning lead. This is my first harness as I've mostly just used rentals at the gym. Functionally this harness gets the job done 100% and looks nice so no complaints there. Regarding fit I'm 5'8" about 185 and 32 waist. I opted for medium but two issues... I'm sort of right at that in between spot where medium is a little tight while large is too big. I've really gotta squeeze myself in and there's not much tightening down required. 2nd my thighs are huge so even with the harness fully loosened around my thighs it can get uncomfortable climbing for extended periods. 5 stars cuz I feel like this works for most people. I've just got weird body dimensions I guess haha
Simple, light-weight, secure, and safe. Being a beginner climber, I have no trouble putting the harness on and making adjustments. I barely notice wearing the harness despite it being super tightened around my waist and upper thighs as it should be. On the contrary, the harness provides great security during moments where I do fall, intentionally and unintentionally, and in those moments do I realize that "Oh yea, this thing was here this entire time to save my butt." Overall, I feel very safe with this harness.
I've climbed with a Momentum harness for years. Great for sport or trad, all comfort. I do find that the size runs small. Newest version has a quick buckle rather than double back, so it doesn't open completely. Back loop is strong enough to haul rope
I thoroughly enjoy how comfortable this harness is. The padding all around is great and almost feels non-existent because of the cushion. The one downside of this harness is the back leg straps. About my third use, one tore out which was a huge bummer! The area it tore out of is difficult to sew back together so I have removed the strap completely. All in all, love the harness just the back strap rips out fairly easily so be careful with that.
Fully adjustable when layering for rock or alpine climbing, molded gear loops readily facilitate clipping in gear on lead, padded waist belt comfortable on hanging belays, adjustable leg loops prevent binding when on the move.
I have had several harnesses from BD, and this is probably my favorite. It’s light, reliable, and super comfortable. The best part is that it’s like 50 bucks. Great product!
My old harness was never comfortable. This was comfy. Haven’t done a whole lot of climbing yet but I did “hang” around at REI before purchasing it and it felt good. Also used it to do the cable section of Half Dome using a prusik... I did a lot of being supported by the harness there. And it felt really good there also.
Not the most comfortable, does it’s job but kind of digs into to you a bit. Good for short climbs but not recommended for lengthy hang times.
stays put when on, seems to be very well made, have not ripped anything yet, great entry level product
Amazing product so far has been very comofortable and affordable as well for beginners looking to get into climbing!
