Pilling after only a few washes
Really disappointed with these shorts after I could feel them starting to pill on the first wash. I followed the instructions on the tag (Cold machine wash & low temp machine dry), and it is now on its ~3rd-4th wash, fully pilling on the waist part. It's unfortunate because it fitted great and is very lightweight. I'll have to air dry it from now on, but even then, I'm not confident it would reduce it by a lot.

I love these Shorts, but they pill horribly. They’re super comfy and the length is perfect for my 65-year-old legs, but I won’t be buying them again because of the pilling. Unfortunately I bought four pairs before I figured this out and they are way to expensive to deal with the pilling.
Great fitting shorts-worth the price !
These fit my body so well, that I have a Happy Face when I am wearing them in the gym to work out, or just around town. I appreciate the loose waist band since I have a large waist. The XL fit me perfectly which is not always the case since some womens shorts assume you have a tiny waist. They wash well and dry quickly. I will buy another pair in a different color when the 20% coupon comes out since I cannot justify two pairs for now full price. Spendy but I like the features. Small pocket on right leg with zipper allows me to store my locker key. Side pockets are deep enough to hold my cell phone without fear of falling out
Love them but one significant flaw
I truly truly love these shorts more than you can imagine. They are lightweight, quick drying, comfortable, and fit well. I have them in 3 colors. However I was extremely disappointed to find that they are definitely not rugged. I wore them on a trip to Indonesia and found that after sitting on some rough surfaces they became extremely pilled up. So just be warned that they are not really durable as a hiking or rough-wear short, despite their "Mountain Hardware" lineage.
Sizing Changes on Different Colors of Same Short
I have the XL in Black and the fit was perfect. I purchased it 3 weeks ago for a road trip and wore it lots. Comfy and fit just the way I wanted so the other day , I purchased the Olive Green. Same Size. Was very disappointed when I tried it on and it ran a bit smaller. Smaller in the thighs especially and a bit smaller in the waist. Since I had just washed my black pair, I tried them both on and I could see the sizing was off. I hate when this happens that the color of a product can make a difference in the sizing. I have ordered the 1X (which I should not need for shorts). and am awaiting it arriving in the mail
Incredibly comfortable BUT pill terribly.
I gave these 3 stars because I buy for longevity and while these shorts are extremely comfortable, the perfect length for me, and what I reach for daily… they are COVERED in pills. I’ve had them now for 6 months. At about 4 washings, they began pilling. And it’s just getting worse. The fabric does NOT hold up well. So, I don’t wear them out of the house unless I’m working in the yard or some outdoor activity where I’m going to get dirty and don’t want to wear them”nice” shorts for. It’s super disappointing because I’d have them in every color of that wasn’t the case. The cut is fantastic. I reach for them first around the house. Unfortunately, their quality doesn’t match the price tag. Definitely not REI quality.
Perfect shorts for camping and more
Shorts are super light and comfortable. SPF 50 for sun protection. They dry quickly and move with you. I plan to order more they are so good.

I bought these for an upcoming trip to the Philippines since they would be cool and comfortable. They did not disappoint, as they were both. They washed up nicely and stayed in shape and did not shrink. I would definitely purchase them again in another color.

I really love these shorts! I have 2 pairs now. They are so comfortable and soft including the wide waste band. Pockets are great too, my iphone 15 pro fits in the pockets with room to spare. The length is just right for me. I would recommend these for anyone active or casual. This fit is right on as I’m usually an XS.
