An essential tool, on and off the trail

I love these expanded maps from Green Trails. If you prefer physical maps, these are great for getting to know an area and seeing how trails link up (or don't). Useful for planning, daydreaming, and finding your way. As an added bonus, they're lighter and more durable than the standard 15-minute maps. The one quibble I have about them is that they sometimes go too long between updates.

My "go to" maps for local hikes; almost always the most up to date map available.
